Question about Frigidaire FEF336BC Electric Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Replaced bake unit in Frigidaire FEF366DCA yesterday and when I turned on to bake @ 350 I heard a "pop" and the oven would not heat past 300 in quite some amount of time. Is it a blown fuse? And if so where is it located? Or is it some other issue? Thanks! Mike

The pop is most likely an electrical short it will be in the back of the stove, that is unless your new element shorted .when cool you can run your hand around it and you should feel no blisters, smooth only.other wise you are doing a visiual inspection and looking for an obivous burnt wire/connection.God bless ,tom

Tom, Thank you. God bless you too. I opened the back and saw some charring around a ceramic insulator. I'm not sure where the short was. After the initial "popping" sound, the circuit breaker opened as well.

I own FRIGIDAIRE ES100/105 (electric stove and oven). Yesterday I was using the oven and suddenly I heard a loud sound. I went to check it I found out the both the oven and stove were off. And not working....

HI. The actual issue will be with the main logic board, which is where the main element control relays are mounted. These very important relays are damaged. The main board will need to be replaced, asap.

With that said, if you could be so kind; Please post the entire model number so that i may pull up all necessary part numbers needed, as well as, service manual links and diagrams to help with your repair.

Was cooking I'n oven. Heard a big pop sound and saw lghtning I'n tne oven. Now oven will heat a little but won't cook or broil ?

Hello,

That sounds like the heating element went out when it first goes it could look like a lightning strike. Replacing the bake or broil element ,depending which one was on at the time will fix your oven. If you were baking replace bake element if ya werebroiling replace that one.
Reply with EXACT model number and i'll give ya the part number

Yesterday I heard a loud pop from inside the stove. Frigidaire smooth top professional series just about 5 years old. Looked inside and my parchment paper had caught on fire which had never happned before...

Is this an oven or the cook top?

A blown oven element is possible. You may still be able to bake but the oven will seem to take forever to warm up. An easy check would be to crank the heat up full bore and put your hand near the top then the bottom. You should feel more intense heat the nearer you get to a working element.

Model. jtp35wom1ww serial.AR6 18302Q. Double Oven will not heat properly. Takes 40 minutes to heat to 350.

Check to see if Lower element is red after 5 minutes. if not you are just heating on the broil unit at 110 volts (1/4 of its full watts), may never get much hotter than 300 that way. if bake isn't red it may need to be replaced.

Kenmore range

If this range has electric elements in the oven, you may have blown one of the heating elements. Do any of the oven functions work? If you were attempting to BAKE when this occurred, have you attempted to turn on the BROILER to see if it works? If the BROILER still heats up, you may just have a bad heating element. If both features quit working, the problem may be with your Electronic Range Control (ERC) board. Post back with comments and let me know.
