My washing machine is going perfectly through all the cycles BUT takes all the water from the softener compartment.

I need to add the washing powder manually while taking the water for the washing cycle and the same if I want to use softener, I add the softener when about 12 minutes left on the machine.

I already had a technician out but wanted to talk to the aeg people first.

are the holes that spray out the water partially blocked? if so the water will spray out at every angle filling all the tray slots. try popping out the soap tray and cleaning above it with a stiff washing up brush and then reducing the water pressure by turning the tap off a bit.
