Question about Washing Machines
I bought the Whirlpool washer wfw9250wl01, serial hl04465795 on 02/25/2011. On 05/25/2011 a strange loud noise appeared when the washer is draining. I called a technicitian and some parts had to be replaced( 26 110 w10130913 and 980std316716). The noise reappeared 6 months later. It is not under warranty anymore. Is there any recall due to this problem? Please advise.
Sounds like bad pump

This problem, or some variation thereof evidently is very common with these Whirlpool Washers! I have same problem. So far, best I have found is at
diagnosis by someone who knows. What William Burk says there makes sense. However, to get to the drive block there's quite a bit of disassembly required. I am stopped because I cannot get the spanner nut off. Hope this gives you some help toward finding a more comprehensive answer

Today (4/3/09) I got a letter from Sears. They will replace the electronic control board (you know, the F-51 business) for FREE, in warranty or not. Serial #s for the Bad Board begin: CS48 - CS52 or CT01-CT49. Call Sears at 800-847-9083. The voices of all of us have finally been heard! There is a class action attorney firm in San Francisco looking into a legal remedy.
