Question about Foxconn NF4UK8AA-8EKRS Motherboard

1 Answer

I have hooked everything correctly into my computer with a Foxconn NF4UK8AA-8EKRS Motherboard and plugged everything in. But when i hit the power button nothing happens. The only effect when the power supply is turned on is the lan lights flash for a split second. What could possibly cause this? I have tried other powersupplys with no luck. Any suggestsions would help.

Okay thank you. I think it is something else than the motherboard as i had the same problem on the first one i recieved and RMA'd it and am still having the same problem with the new motherboard. Could you explain what buggling is? Is a cmos battery easy to replace and is there any way to make sure this is the problem? I have an alternative processor that i will try. Thank you for your help

I tried the other processor i had and still no luck is there a chance that the front panel with the power button is not working? How exactly do i check the capacitators? Is there a chance it is my power supply and how would i check for that? I will continue to try differnt things like ram and ram slots.

Intermittant no-power up problem. Thought it might be power on leads, nope...power supply leads..check OK...very perplexing. If I jiggle all the cables. pull and reseat power cord it will fire up but I can't isolate problem yet.

Could be one of three things, either your motherboard is faulty (check the capacitors for bulging) and is not getting the power to the processor, the processor itself has faulted, or it's simply a flat cmos battery, as this can cause none starters.

it wasnt buggling it was capacitor bulging, and the cmos battery is very easy to change its on the motherboard called cr2032 its flat disc shaped.

Foxconn NF4UK8AA-8EKRS doesn't recognize CPU

Smithbrother is right...

the file you need is here:

You'll have to get yourself a BIOS flash utility. There are some simple, good boot disks for that here:

then you'll need to boot to that disk (not into Windows), and run the flash utility provided at the previous link. Once your BIOS has updated itself, you should be good to go.

This is a known issue with early BIOS revisions of your board.

Computer just beeps when you turn it on

The beep is part of the POST (Power On Self Test). Does it just beep once or is it a combination of beeps. If there's more than one beep you need to let us know what the sequence is.

It sounds as if you have a flat CMOS battery, remove and replace. To delete the password and bios settings locate 'JBAT1' terminal on motherboard and put jumper from pins 1-2 across 2-3 for a few seconds and then back to pins 1-2. You will have to reset time and detect drives in standard CMOS settings.
