)HP (Hewlet Packard) dos not use any specific brand of drives for all their machines, internal or external. By the part number, I see you have an USB external 750Gb (HP HD7500S USB 2.0 Hard Drive) or an HP Personal Media Drive (HD5000s) For information on the Personal Media Drive, I am posting this HP link for more information for you to copy paste in a new browser window.
Hope this helps..

Reading the reviews, this a problem device. Over heats, very noisy, slow transfers and Western Digital drive model is unsuitable for the enclosure. zI recommend getting a refund or if that is not possible get it replaced by the vendor.

What personal media drive will fit the HP m 1190n media bay. Will any fit or are they part number specific? Thank you

Not sure what you mean by personal media player.

1) If its an Ipod or any MP3 player, you should be able to connect any via a USB cable, or directly plugged in.

2) if you mean CD or DVD drive/player like the one that came with it, they're generic, any with the correct interface (IDE or SATA) Though I think SATA in this case.

Here's a URL with the full specification of your system to help:-

If you mean the "personal media bay" listed here, I think were back to a generice CD/DVD drive.

Did a system restore from previous restore point and now my computer doesn't recognize the drive. Don't have the startup cd so can't re-install it. Need the driver but the one on HP website doesn't...

Do you get an error message stating that USB device is not recognized? And is the yellow LED on the front flashing one and off rapidly? If yes, it is likely not the driver. It could be that your HP Personal Media Drive has "bricked". There is a firmware issue with some drives that causes it to lock up and it won't be recognized. It is possible to restore the drive (with no data loss) by using some hacker methods which are described on the internet in a lot of detail. Once the drive has been unbricked, you need to upgrade the firmware to prevent the problem from happening again. I successfully performed the fix using information found by searching "unbrick seagate drive". Good luck.

Recently built a new desktop(breaking out of the pre-built hp era) my new desktop will not read my hp 5000s hard drive which contains every picture I've taken in the last 3 years as well as over 5000 mp3's...

What's happening? Do you get an unrecognized USB device error and is the yellow LED on the front flashing on and off rapidly? If so, your drive could be locked due to a firmware issue on the hard drive itself. I had this problem and followed the very detailed instructions on the internet to unlock the drive with ZERO data loss. I followed that by updating the firmware. If this sounds like your problem, google search "unbrick seagate drive" and you'll find plenty of information on how to fix the problem.

Pc states a malfunction and does not recognise my external hd

I have the same Personal Media Drive and one day it just stopped being recognized by the computer. The drive access light flashed on and off rapidly. I came to find out that the actual drive inside the unit was a Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 drive which has multiple reports of locking up. It is a firmware issue with the drive. You cannot unlock the drive by powering on/off the drive. It is possible to "unlock" the drive but you'll need to remove the actual hard drive from the personal media drive case and rig up some electronics to trick the drive into unlocking. There are a lot of detailed instructions on the internet, just google "seagate drive unbrick"- you'll find plenty of guidance. I performed the procedure and my data came back unharmed. Of course you want to make sure that you follow the unbricking procedure by flashing new firmware. I had used my drive 3 times to back up data and was about 15 months old - HP offered absolutely no help.

How to make Seagate ST3200822AS 200 GB Hard Drive

If you are using the drives in a fairly new computer, the drives have a setting called "cable select" If these are EIDE drives, then they have jumpers on a set of pins on the power side of the drive. Look on the drive and use the power plug as a reference for how the jumper fits on the pins to make the drive "cable select" and what that means is the drive will conform to which cable is plugged into it. If you have the slave cable plugged into the drive, that is how the motherboard will recognize it.

How do I change the timing belt on a 2003 Tiburon

2003 Hyundai Tiburon 2.7L MFI DOHC 6cyl

Inspect the drive belt for signs of glazing or cracking. A glazed belt will be perfectly smooth from slippage, while a good belt will have a slight texture of fabric visible. Cracks will usually start at the inner edge of the belt and run outward. All worn or damaged drive belts should be replaced immediately.
Removal & Installation
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the engine splash shield.
  3. Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise to release the drive belt tension.
  4. Remove the drive belt from the alternator.
  5. Slowly release the drive belt tensioner.
  6. Remove the drive belt from the accessory drive pulleys.
To install:
  1. Install the drive belt to the accessory drive pulley.
  2. Rotate the drive belt tensioner clockwise.
  3. Install the drive belt to the alternator.
  4. Ensure the drive belt is properly aligned and seated into the grooves of the accessory drive pulleys.
  5. Slowly release the drive belt tensioner
  6. Install the engine splash shield.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
