Question about GE (PSS26MSRSS) Side by Side Refrigerator
About 2 weeks ago the frig was not cool enough. I discovered that the freezer was very frosted over. I defrosted it and got it going again. Today I found that it was frosted again.
I suspect the defrost heater failed, but am not sure if it could be a controling unit?

You check for continuity at each end of each heater. If is ok you have a bad defrost timer or abad defrost terminator(it 'll close when reaches about 30 degrees).

if u have frost build up in the freezer it will affect the temperature
and it needs to defrost
problems could be
unit problems (unlikely) if even frost coating.

also check defrost timer, defrost thermostat. In
most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board.
If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.
