Question about Toto Carlyle 1-piece Elongated Bowl Toilet

1 Answer

When refilling, valve shuts on and off every few seconds.

I'm concerned about this because of the force of the on off an the stress that this may be creating on the pipes. The on/off is really quite violent and pipes shake.

It sounds like the float/water sensing valve is bouncing

turn the chrome supply shut off valve all the way off then open slightly to reduce the amount of water coming into the tank It may take longer for the tank to fill but should eliminate the banging

Good Luck

How do I get my canon MG2560 to accept refilled cartridges?

Sometimes you need to install a new NOT REFILLED cartridge for a few minutes or page printings to get the system to accept that the cartridge has been changed ie replaced with the manufacturers NEW part and then the refilled one will work just fine. It is a way to force purchase of OEM cartidges.

If the pilot go out on a furnace would gas continue to flow to the pilot , or would it shut off with in a few seconds

The pilot flame heats a thermocouple, so if the pilot goes out, the thermocouple cools and shuts off the gas. It can take anywhere from 20 seconds to 2 minutes for it to shut off. You should hear an audible click when it happens.

2006 F150 Engine noise

Depends what the noise is whether it is a case for concern or not, an unidentified noise is always a case for concern.

There are two common possibilities - oil drain back due to a worn oil pump and hydraulic valve lifters that have become tired.

The first possibility affects mostly high mileage engines and produces crankpin/bigend bearing noise until full oil pressure is achieved. If this continues for more than a few seconds it can be a cause for concern though some engines are so strong up to 30 seconds rattling at idle can be tolerated.

The second possibility is not a case for immediate concern.

I have 2009 D22 double cab it has done 43 000Km, however I have two concerns. The first is noisy tappets usually only when the vehicle has been standing for a day or two, however it only lasts for a few...

If the vehicle has had proper oil changes, the noisy valve lifters may the oil filter. If the anti-drainback valve is defective and the filter is at an angle,it may take a few extra seconds to refill before can supply the engine with normal oil pressure.
Also,at the last oil change, has the proper oil viscosity been used?
The noise at the dash is usually a hose.Have someone move the hoses a little while you sit inside and listen for changes in that noise at 2000 to 3000 rpm.As it becomes quiet, adjust the hose or whatever that new position.

My Crane Toilet is several years old. When the tank is refilling following a flush, water sprays in front of the white towwer with some force. Sometimes the water level gets higher than the overflow...

On a toilet that old I would recommend that you change the flush valve and float assembly to a newer version. One I particullarly like is the 400A Fluidmaster. It is simply to install and incorporates the flush valve and float valve into one unit.
They are simple to install as long as you can shut the water supply off. The instructions are printed on the inside of the box so just follow them closely. The only thing I add to there instructions is to use a small amount of silicone caulk around both sides of rubber washer that goes on the base of the valve.Adjust height on valve before you install it to get it close. The final float level can be set with spring clip on float rod.
I have been useing these valves for many years and they will work on most toilets and they are almost maintainance free.Added plus they are inexpensive. Thank you.

My 2005 lincoln LS has 2 obd11 codes they are: P2107 and P2110 what does this mean?

concern is not the throttle body or tp sensor
coils are causing rf interfernce which causes pcm to get an erratic signal and shut down throttle response
you may also notice a miss/hesitation attimes on hard accel and this is when throttle may shut down?
rec stress test all coils with an oscilliscope-common concern on this vehicle

Hello, This problem is going to be your safety valve coils...basically they get old and over time of heating then cooling develop a short when they heat up...It may appear the gas lights to start but then goes out until the safety valve coils cool back down. Here is a picture of a set of coils Yours may differ but it's the same concept. You will find them mounted to the saftey valve at the rear of the igniter. 57d5263.jpg This should solve your problem. Hope this helps, Please feel free to comment again if you have any further questions or concerns. Good Luck! Mike

Colibri wellington ligther refilling

Turn the flame height adjuster on the bottom of the lighter to the lowest setting by turning it clockwise.
There are three different kinds of flame height adjusters: hand, thumbnail and screwdriver. If you have a screwdriver flame height adjuster, you will need to use a slotted screwdriver to turn the adjuster.
Hold the lighter away from your face. On the bottom of the lighter there is a refill valve. Push down on the valve with a screwdriver to let the compressed air out. You will know all the air has escaped when you no longer hear a hissing sound.
Turn the lighter upside down, so the flame end is facing the ground. Insert the stem of the clean butane fuel refill at 45 psi pressure into the refill valve and press down.
Hold the refill can in this position for five seconds.
Remove the stem of the refill can from the refill valve, and tap down on the valve once with a screwdriver to force out the remaining air.
Wait three to four minutes to let the gas reach room temperature before attempting to use the lighter again.
Turn the flame adjuster counterclockwise when you are ready to use the lighter again.
good luck
