You need to check to see if something is caught in the blower or the motor and keeping it from turning.

SOURCE: My clothes are getting caught in my dryer.

I am having this same problem with my GE dryer. I found a post on from a guy that has repaired these for years. He says it is the rear drum bearing. Looks like a pretty easy fix, I am going to try to do it myself. If you try this, I have also read that you should spend the extra $10 to go ahead and replace the drums front felt glide kit.

Good Luck!

You need to check the motor isn't bad which is possible. All of what you have stated is possible. You are going to have to check out each and every one until you find it. But all three can cause it.

SOURCE: clothes dryer drum seems to be unbalanced how to we fix it

First check to see if an internal baffle has come loose. Then look thru the trouble door on the back if it has one to see if the belt is acting up for some reason. If the dryer has a center bearing, it may be worn out or the drum may not be in the bearing properly. If the dryer has rollers, check them for damage or lack of grease. Even the front glides can get mis-aligned or the drum is not riding them correctly. In short, take it all apart and check everything.

Tumble dryer drum not turning under load

Was the belt changed recently? The reason I ask is because it sounds like the belt was put on backwards, meaning the ribbed tire looking side of the belt is facing upwards instead of making contact with the drum. The symptoms of this are the exact same you are describing.

The belt around the drum of my dryer broke. i have a new one just need some tips on puting it on. Also when i pulled the drum out there was a white/clear piece, round in size, and a metal clip laying on...

don't know what the pieces are that you found on the floor of dryer, check the front panel for the clip, might have popped off when you took the dryer apart or these things fell out of clothing that were put into the belt, rap it around the drum with the ridges touching the drum, smooth side up.stick the drum in place and spin it a few times till the felt in the back is lined up and the rollers are lined up on the drum, stick your head inside the drum and hold the drum up with your shoulder, just pinch the belt together and pull it under the pulley and attach it onto the motor shaft, that's it.picture your pants belt floded in half, around four inches from the folded part pinch the belt together and you'll have a loop on the end, your fingers are the bottom part of the pulley and the loop end is the part of the belt that connects to the motor shaft.hope this helps, let me know how you make out

Just moved, dryer won't tumble with a load. Error code PF

Did it get tipped in the move? I don't know about the specific model of Maytag, but on my old Kenmore the belt that ran the drum also had a wheel and kind of like a pulley that it had to seated on in order for the belt to stay centered on the drum and turn properly.I don't know how you get the shell off the front to get at the drum, the Kenmore had screws that you had to take out and lift the control panel off and then back to get at the inside. Sorry

Possibly the belt assembly. if you open the door and try to turn the drum does it turn with a little resistance, noises? this model has rollers, pulley, and a four groove belt 92 1/4" , sometimes the pulley sticks after yrs of use, belts wear, drum misaligns. the humming should be the motor trying to work.

Dryer belt broke on my dryer.

I use a putty knife to press against the spring clips to pop the top. Then I use a quarter inch nutdriver to remove the screws holding the front panel on. I remove the wires from the door switch and lift out the front panel. I remove the drum and put the dryer on a work bench or a tailgate. I inspect the blower wheel(most of the time they get loose). I get the ball of lint out of the front panel filter housing. I vacuum out the dryer with my shopvac. I oil the rollers and idler and inspect the drum slides for wear. I loop a new belt rib side down to the drum and set it back in the dryer. With my left hand I drop the belt under the motor pulley and raise up the idler looping the belt on it and let the tension hold the idler. I manually slowly turn the drum to make sure the belt is secure and not twisted. I place the front back on. Snap the top down and give her a try. Piece of cake.
