Yes. It may prevent it from booting if the system is looking for a specific boot up device. Depends on boot sequence configuration.

Unable to insert the memory card

Does your memory card have a lock on it, if so unlock it. Some memory cards have a little slider on the side to prevent accidents from occurring. If yours has it, slide it up/down/left/right then try it again

Memory card locked

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

How can I remove write protection on my usb drive?

If this is a SD card as depicted, then the slide switch on the left side is the write protect. Slide the switch towards the top to unlock.

If this is some other type of usb drive, post what kind.

Memory card is write protected...how do I change this?

Take your memory card from camera and check the write-prevention switch. You can see it at the left side when looking at a card from the top. Move the slider switch away from LOCK position.acf7eb1.jpg

Yes of course it has two slot for a memory card. The one is currently occupied by your current memory card that runs your computer as of now. What I mean there is only one slot left for an upgrade. :-)

I have an HP Pavilion 752n Win XP SP3 with ASUSTeK Computer INC. P4G-LA REV 1.xx motherboard. I am currently running 1.2 GB of memory. I would like to replace the 256MB memory card with another 1GB memory...

The motherboard can support 1GB of memory, Window XP can manage up to 2GB fairly good maybe more with other setting applied. I would recommend using two 512 memory chips to fill the slots to prevent any memory conflict issues.

Error when turned on, "Memory card error"

if it is an SD or SDC card the check the cord for a lock on the upper left side. This will prevent a lot of functions.
