To add more power to your systems connect AVC500 amp AUX input to

AVR 3808C "Rec Out", or any of the audio "out" s you may want to

connect ( back of the receiver)

use RCA plug on both ends of the cable.

Enjoy and Have a nice day!

SOURCE: Denon AVR-1907 blinking red power button

It sounds like you have a bad speaker on the zone 2, or you have the speakers connected improperly.

When you engage the zone 2 a relay clicks and the speakers then become part of the amplifiers circuit.

If the problem was in the amplifier, it would go into protect mode without even having speakers connected to it.

If the speakers all check good, you most likely have the wrong type of speakers, meaning the impeadance is too low, or you have too many speakers connected to it.

On the back of the Denon, you will see right around the speaker output jacks, what ratings the speakers should be. If I remember correctly, it says 6 ohms or more when using only "A" or "B", and it says 12ohms or more for "A" + "B".

If you have two 8 ohm speakers on the same speaker jack you now have a 4 ohm load. That is below the ratings and can cause the amp to shut down (go into protect). Since your amp shuts down right away, I think you have a bad speaker or way too many speakers connected.

I have seen many times when people will connect 2 or 4 speakers to the one of the outputs that are designed for only 1 speakers.

If you are using too many speakers you will need a speaker distribution box. It has a resistor network built into it so the amp never sees a lower impeadance than what it is designed for.
You can connect 4, 6 or 8 speakers to one set of outputs designed for 2 speakers. You do loose a lot of power to the speakers, but it is better than blowing up your amplifier.

If I can be of any further help, let me know.

SOURCE: NO GUI displayed

I had a similar problem with my Denon 3808 after it had the protection circuit tripped. First all I would get is a blue screen with sound, then after powering the unit off I got the display back, but all of the on screen GUI menus were gone. I could tell that the menu button worked because display located physically on the recever worked. I reset/rebooted the system (follow the directions in manual) and everything came back. Be aware by resetting the system any customization you have done will be lost. Hope that helps

How do I configure my denon avr3808ci to play 7:1

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Denon-AVR-3808CI-Receivers-manual/id/3124dj391/t/2/

First, you must have all 7 primary speakers plus a powered suboofer attached. Page 9

Page 25 describes how automatic detection and adjustment is achieved. Page 28 for manual speaker setup.

Assign digital inputs. Page 39.

Then feed it appropriate 7.1-compatible material. page 40

Hi, how can i hook up a wireless 5.1 headphone to a denon avr-3808 using an optical connection. I can't find any optical output port on the denon amplifier.

My manual shows two optical outputs labeled "2 (DVR)" and "3 (VCR)" at the upper right of the rear panel.

It's unclear what will appear there when playing any particular analog source.

I cant turn off the closed caption on my avr-3808ci...???

The receiver has nothing to do with that since it doesn't actually tune the station or decode the video content.

Usually, it's the TV that deals with CC.

Digital projector is shutting down as soon as dvd

Hi make sure that in the projector menu it doesn't have an option to cancel "control" as many tv's with hdmi have the capability to receive command signals through the hdmi cable.

Also make sure that your receiver is set for hdmi signal you must designate which input you are using on the receiver and then tell it what type of signal you want it to use.

you may have just pushed a button that changed these settings somewhere along the way.

hope that helps

I have a Denon AVR-3808ci. I am having problems hooking up my nintendo 64 to this unit. I am trying to use the 3 line cable which has left/right audio (respectively red/white) and audio (yellow). I have it...

If your amp is not upcoverting the picture you will have to come from the yellow monitor out on the amp to in on the tv,if you have no input on tv use a scart to phono convertor pluged into the scart socket.
hope this helps.

Playing mp3 files

if that is only a simple/usual reciever then you simply hook your laptop speaker out to any available line in of your receiver like aux, CD, DVD, video aux. but not the phono in please. you are just using the receiver as a simple amplifier for your laptop. is that what you need to know mam?

just post your comment if you have a different query. Regards/Reden
