If this is a USB 2.0 external hard drive then no drivers are needed because usb drivers are usually built in all newer machines.

Have you been able to access the drive in the past? If so it might have become corrupt so do a reformat of the drive and format it to NTFS. You can also uninstall and reinstall the drive for your HD before doing this. Pretty much a last resort.
