Sharp mx 2310u L8:20 error

L8:20 error reprorted, very often, used on USB Printing which is shared over a network not directly on network. All boards removed and reseated, all connections removed and reseated, Latest firmware installed, Error message appears (not all the time) when a print is sent, Turning the achine on or off solves it for a short while usually hours. Any one got any ideas on this as its really bugging me and the customer.

    Monday going to remove off usb and get it onto the network to see if it is anything to do with usb

    an updated board. The visual difference is the ram slots, on the old board there is only one slot and slot 2 has the solder points but no socket. THE NEW BOARD HAS TWO PHYSICAL SOCKETSFOR ADDITIONAL MEMORY. DONT FORGET TO CHANGE THE SDCARD HIDDEN UNDER A SMALL METAL COVER ON THE BOARD.

    If any one gets this sort of problem for future reference a mass mixture of problems and codes all steming from L8-20 change the scanner board. Seems to be faulty on a lot of machines.

SOURCE: "Off-line" error message

Go to control panel - printers. Right click your printer icon - select delete printer. Reinstall the software and drivers via CD supplied. May have to restart your computer when complete. Go back to control panel - select printers - select add a printer and follow the instructions. When finished print a test page.

There is a known problem with adobe 7 printing on this model. Unistall the PCL6 driver and re-install it using the PCL5e driver instead. This will fix your problem.

Go to: http://www.sharpusa.com/products/business/copiers/business_copiers_drivers/
and select the copier and OS that you use. Download the PCL5e driver. When you finish downloading, you might have to extract it from the zip format, then run the setup.exe file and follow the prompts.

To help protect your direct-print documents from unauthorized viewing, the MX-2310U offers encrypted PDF printing and scanning. Additionally, Secure Fax Release ensures received fax documents are held in memory until an authorized user enters a PIN code, so that compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA is easier.

This data will be cleared if Sim 66-10 is enacted.

Sharp mx-2310u printing double vesion of an image, the copy and the lighter to the right. how can i fix this?


Double print usually happens when Drum completed its life and Cleaning Blade unable to clean the drum surface properly, Replacing of Drum and Cleaning blade will gave you good copy quality, Don't forget to clean Charger unit

Dirty or broken sensors in the inside back of your machine that detect movement of your mylar transfer belt. A portion of the belt swings up and down for color printing. Or your belt unit may be broken or not installed properly
