Change the display mode from fixed decimal to scientific or engineering. On some calculators all that'll do is to light up some other indicator.

To see how to change the display mode, please refer to the manual. If you still need assistance, feel free to repost your question but be sure to specify the make and model of your calculator.

How to do combinations

Look for a key marked nCr for combinations, or one marked with nPr for permutations. The marking may be on the calculator plate. In that case you will use the Shift, 2nd or 2ndF key before.
Enter n, press the key then r.
For the factorial fuction x! or n!, you enter n then press the key. .

How can i perform simple functions, multiplication, addition, etc. The display shows RAD and I press say 5 then + 2 and rather than producing 7 it is showing 52?

the easiest way out of this is to remove the battery and this will force a "soft reset" there may also be a small reset button on the back (use a ball point pen to push). you have your calculator set in radian mode, and there should be button on the calc that say other fuctions, just try pusing some buttons, it won't hurt anything anyway

Having problem with ti 83 calculator everytime i graph it read error invalid dimensions

You must deactivate the statistical plots. If you do statistical graphs, the graphing is reconfigured in a way that happens to be incompatible with regular fuction graphs.

  1. To deactivate the statistical plots.
  2. Press [2nd][Y=] to access the (STAT PLOT) menu.
  3. Press [4:PlotsOff][ENTER].
  4. Calculator displays Done.
  5. You are ready to draw the function graphs.

Dimenssion error when trying to graph a function

You're probably trying to graph a function that does not involve stat plot features. You can correct this by turning off the stat plot features. Press "2ND" "STAT PLOT" and then select 4:PlotsOff.

The first solution will allow you to watch your calculator graph two equations simultaneously rather than finishing one before graphing the next; it won't solve the problem of having the calculator unselect one equation when you select a second. To fix that problem, try the following:

In order to select additional graphs, the Transformation Graphing App will need to be uninstalled from the TI-83 Plus Family and TI-84 Plus Family. Uninstalling the App does not erase it from the calculator, it disables it from interfering with the normal graphing modes. Below are the steps to successfully uninstall the App.
  • Press [APPS] key
  • Select Transfrm from the menu
  • Press 1:Uninstall
