Question about JVC AV-32120 32" TV

JVC model LT42EM59 closed captioning now gone

We just purchased the TV and had closed captioning. We upgraded our satellite service to HD, after all why have an HD TV without getting full benefits of it. Any hoo, now we do not have closed captioning after we upgraded the satellite receiver, I have tried every combination, tried all the analog cc, and even have gone thru the digital cc settings, but I must be missing something.

With husband hard of hearing this makes life easier and the sound does not have to be sky high.

thank you

There is a black square in the middle of the tv and I can not get it to go away

Check your TV's closed-caption settings. You have it set for "text" mode now, and the set is blanking out the area where the text would go if there was any.. Turn captions off or set to regual caption mode and the box will be gone. (It's easy to get into this situation because most remotes have a single button to control captions. If it gets pressed you can change modes without knowing it.)

JVC model AV-32750..... The close caption feature is toggled on and a large black square is blocking picture. I have no remote to enter the menu settings so using buttons on bottom front. I am unable to...

just look in the section for closed captions----the box is the "text" feature and just needs to be turned off; if you did it without a remote it can be undone the same way.

I have a JVC model 36D501 TV and I have a large black box appearing on the screen....I think it's a pip problem, but I can't get pip to disengage....help

It is probably the closed captions on text mode.

look on the remote for a CC button or use the user menu to disengage the closed caption.

Black box on bottom of screen when viewing a program. Box disappears during commericals and when changing channels or adjusting volume, then reappears

Hmm, sounds like maybe the closed captioning option is on? Check your remote for a button labeled "CC" and press it to see you that fixes it or go into customer menu and make sure closed captioning is off. If you have a cable or satellite box they may be set for CC as well and need to be set to off.

Closed Captioned

Assuming whatever your TV receiving from has close caption. (Not all TV channel has close caption) Solution 1) Get a new universal remote that support your model and has close caption button. Once you program in the code for your TV model and it works then all button should also programmed including th close caption button. Solution 2) Search online for the owner manual and read see how to turn it on using buttons on TV (if possible). Solution 3) Get new TV with close caption. (If you have an old old TV with bad and huge pixels then this solution is the best. Your eyes will thank you.)
