Question about JVC AV-32120 32" TV

JVC model LT42EM59 closed captioning now gone

We just purchased the TV and had closed captioning. We upgraded our satellite service to HD, after all why have an HD TV without getting full benefits of it. Any hoo, now we do not have closed captioning after we upgraded the satellite receiver, I have tried every combination, tried all the analog cc, and even have gone thru the digital cc settings, but I must be missing something.

With husband hard of hearing this makes life easier and the sound does not have to be sky high.

thank you

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Can't turn closed caption off on our Samsung Series 7000 LED TV

Make sure it isn't your cable or satellite TV service making the captions, as closed captions on your TV are separate from the ones produced by your service provider. If it isn't your cable/ satellite, open the TV menu and find the Audio/Visual properties section of the menu (audio and visual might be separate sections), and find the closed captions or CC options menu. When you do just change the setting from whatever it is on, to off. If your TV remote is fancier than mine (which it probably is), their could possibly be a closed caption button on the remote for easy access. In this case just push the button and change what you need to.

Have a jvc hd52Z575 - can't get the closed caption to work. Have checked the menu-cc is on-set for closed caption-cc1. Per manual menu is set correctly,

If your using component input or a/v input, the cc in the set is not used, only using the cable input jack will you be able to use cc. You have to activate it through your cable box or satellite receiver if your using either one of those.

CANNOT TURN OFF CLOSED CAPTION ON 52" JVC TV

Does it use a cable box or are you using the tuner in the TV?

If you're using the tuner in the TV, try unplugging it for 5 minutes and then plug it back in, do a new channel scan and see if the CC goes away. If not, contact JVC to find out how to reset it. If it still does not work, you might need to have your main board replaced.

If you're using an external tuner plugged into a video input port (such as a cable box or satellite box) then the external box is at fault since TVs don't have CC available through their composite or component or svideo or hdmi ports.

We upgraded our cable service and now have HD Digital service with a DVR box. Now the closed caption option will not work on the TV. We have checked all the settings to no avail.

Closed caption is an extra for the TV tuner you have it may not be on the set for HD ie: your set is now recieveing it's picture from the cable box and not your TV tuner probab;y by scart or SVHS cable , and the equipment you have may not have Closed Caption capability check with your network supplier ..... PS will it work if you go back to normal tv I think it might .? and if it does case proved ..

Get closed captions on some channels, but not all, even though it is CC

RCA have choices for different methods of CC in user CC menu. Labelled T1, T2, etc. . Different selections are for different types of close caption. Tune to a signal (on your other TV) that has closed caption working.

Tune your RCA to the same signal. Change the T1,T2, etc settings until the closed caption for your signal appears.

If this doesn't work, try connecting analog video or VHF channel 3 (or other specified channel) to the TV. check CC. When TV stations, sat channels, sat receivers, cable boxes etc, convert analog video signals to HD, problems can result. Some equipment causes RCA TVs to do unexpected things with sound and closed caption.

If you use RF or video output, old analog video may look better on CH3 or video than on HD input and the CC will work more consistently. Watch HD signals on HD input, Analog signals on Video in or through the TV tuner . Many HD channels and programs are converted analog video and look poor on TV HD inputs.
