Traverse assembly (laser reader) is more than likely damaged and needs to be replaced.

Pioneer 800 mk1 eject disc when powers on

Well, the optical pickup is not able to read the disk. First off, did you use ESD protection when you installed it? If not, it may already be damaged. CDJ 800 Bad Laser

Yes, sounds like you have a bad traverse assembly (laser). You can replace it yourself, however, I wouldn't suggest it, as you need to calibrate the assembly after the installation, and remove a solder bridge (which keeps the unit safe during transport). It is a little complicated, if you don't have experiencing doing this type of work. Taking it to a service center would be your best option.

You can purchase the part HERE

PIONNER cdj800 disc loads but wont read. when i insert a cd it takes forever, never loads and ends up ejecting i tried diff cds and all

Your tray assembly is damaged, and will more than likely need to be replaced. This is a common issue for this unit. The part is available HERE, however self-repair is not recommended. I would also suggest taking in to a service center for a proper diagnosis.

New Laser

If you replaced the tray yourself, then more than likely you did not remove the solder bridge that the manufacturer puts in place to protect the part from damage in shipping.

Detailed instructions on removed this solder bridge are LOCATED HERE. These instructions apply to both the CDJ800 and the CDJ800MK2 models.

Not reading cd's anymore.

if you are a electronic technician
you do as follows (you are not consult a technician)
i am not sure, but in my point of view
its due to
  • the eye alignment/replacement problem
  • due to IC chip problem connected to eject button
  • due to dust
  1. first clean (for remove dust) the cd player circuit board, check the cd player is properly working
  2. first mark the position of the screw
  3. align the eye by using a very small screw driver, turn the screw under the eye unit
  4. insert disc and try to play, repeat the steps for getting a better result

CD automatically ejects

Sounds like a tray issue. Unfortunately the only option is to have the tray replaced.

CDJ 800 Bad Laser

Yes, sounds like a damaged reader/tray. This is not an easy fix. Although there is no soldering involved, it's sort of like a car. In order to get to the engine, you have to remove a whole lot of other sections first. Often times when you put it back together, you'll find yourself with some extra pieces you didn't have when you started. With that said, I do not suggest you do this yourself, unless you are completely 100% confident in your ability. Or, get some help.

The part is available HERE - at the cost of $49.99
