If you have a digital camera, you could take a picture of the plug (several different angles) and your outlet then go to one of the large chain hardware stores, camera in hand, and ask for an adaptor between the dryer's plug and your outlet.
It may not be necessary to rewire the dryer at all.
If they don't have one, keep reading.
The change probably is possible since dryers generally use a 2-phase connection at the most but I wouldn't recommend that you DIY. You are dealing with a line voltage whcih could be 220 and a circuit capable of supply fairly high (20) amperage.
This combination could make toast out of you if improperly wired. Any competent electrician can determine how to do the conversion with a few measurements.
There is an exception; some mfr.s have pasted a large label either inside or out on the larger panel that contains the electrical diagram of the machine.
With some care, most laymen could determine how to make the change.

SOURCE: CHANGING DRYER CORD
All you need to do is, attach the middle connection from the cord to the middle post on the dryer. The 2 outside connections on the cord will attach to the outside posts on the dryer. It does not matter on the outside connectors as far as which side they go.
Make sure they are fastened down tight. If the connections are loose at all, they will go bad.
Please let me know if this has helped you at all or if I can assist you further.
