How to stand xbox

Refrigeration systems have oil in them. Refrigerators are designed to be operated oriented one way and in your case, that's standing up. When layong it down, it allows the oil to accumulate in places it wouldn't otherwise and can lock up your compressor. The hopeful fix is to let it sit upright longer and try again. If that doesn't work, you might try laying it face down the opposite way, standing it back up for a few days and then firing it back up.

Xbox 360 is made to purposely run either way to the players benifit. Everything works find upright or flat. if you lay it flat though, make sure you have ways of air getting in and out of it. There is a tiny chance of overheating. Performance ways they are the same. I dont like to run it straight up. I dont know why but yah, it works either way.

Your disk tray is out of place. unless you want to take a chance of either damaging the xbox or voiding a warranty, take it in and get it fixed. If you do want to fix it direct question me.

My only questions are does the console say the discs are damaged in any way? and is the console standing up right?
If the discs are scratched in any way then that might cause the 360 to not read the disc and sometimes having a console play the disc upright (example of upright 360) for a long time can cause dis function when trying to play discs, so try playing the discs with the console on its side (side example) These are my solutions to the problem but you can try these: Solution 1 Solution 2

Don't worry! It's not going to melt it's just hot or the top of the disc is scatching on somthing.This problem usualy acurs when it's standing upright,if you lay it down it should be O.K.

These red light errors usually happen with little warning. Sometimes you may see strange colors or it will start to freeze, however often times it strikes without warning.
The main cause of the red light errors is overheating. In the future try to keep the console in a well ventilated area and always play with the console standing upright rather than laying flat. When the Xbox 360 lays flat the entire bottom surface area gets very little air flow, causing the console to run much hotter than if it is upright.

unplug the power box from the wall for a few seconds and then try to tun it back on if the problem continues then it could be either a cooling problem or a game problem. check the game to make sure its clean. and be sure your 360 is laying FLAT not standing up the main air flow for the consel is located on the right side of the consel (the opposite side of the hardrive) keep atleast 4 inches on that side

I keep my xbox 360 horizontal because my disks get less scratched this way and no fans are blocked.but if you keep it this way, DO NOT put a graphic on the 360

If you have it set up vertically try setting it down horizontally. My brother's XBox 360 had this problem but he simply exchanged it and now always keeps it laying down rather then standing up. Same problem with my cousins 360, solved it simply by setting it on its side
