SOURCE: timer on samsung digital camera?

Sure ... be sure to use a tripod or other device to place the camera for stability.

  • Set the MODE DIAL to your desired photo setting
  • Press the SELF-TIMER button on the button pad (looks like a clock/timer on the right button pad)
  • There are three settings
    • 10 SEC - 10 seconds will pass until the picture is taken
    • 2 SEC - 2 seconds until the picture is taken
    • Double self-timer - a picture will be taken after 10 seconds, and then after 2 seconds a second picture will be taken.
  • Press the SHUTTER button to begin the timer.
  • Jump in the shot! =)

SOURCE: Could I use my Canon bounce flash (550EX) with this Olympus Digital camera?

That's not possible because the hot shoe is not provided for the Canon hot shoe. You can change some wires in the Canon flasunit to let it think is an Olympus model ;)

My Samsung L100 Camera doesn't know how to flash once!

Most cameras flash twice; the first one is for setting the exposure, the second one is for real. About the best you can do is warn your targets that the camera is going to flash twice.

Yes, the L100 has a self-timer. Press Right on the selector (the clock icon) until the desired mode indicator appears on the display. Your choices are 10-second delay, 2-second delay, double self-timer, and motion timer.

The self-timer is described on pages 29-30 in my copy of the manual.

Problems with flash and settings

Manuals in English and other languages may exist on the Internet. That will take some searching. Most of those user manuals are free for downloading in PDF, normally.

Try this: Reset ALL in the menus. This may work, and I have given this same resolve for a few here. I also have solved some of my camera problems by resetting the settings menu.

Go over all your settings again, making sure you have everything set for the kind of picture you want. For instance if you set the menu on landscape picture mode, the flash may not work, because you usually would not use flash outside in the open day. Some of the other settings may affect the flash and when it will flash.

Delay timer

You can download the manuals for the PowerShot SD600 here.

To use the self timer feature, you need to set it up in the menu first.

1. Press the Menu button. If not in the shooting menu (silhouette of a camera), use the left or right arrow to get there.
2. Use the down arrow to select Self Timer.
3. Use the right arrow to select the clockface with a 2 or a 10 (2 second or 10 second delay).
4. Press the Func./Set button.
5. Press the Menu button to exit.

Once set up, you can activate it by pressing on the down arrow. You should see an icon change from a rectangle to a clockface at the top center of the LCD when the self timer mode is selected. Press the down button again to cancel the self timer mode.
