PCD120U volume issue

I recently installed the PCD120U in my auto. The problem is that each time the system is turned on the volume has to be reset. It doesn't stay at the level set by me previously, Once the device is turned off, when I turn it back on the volume is very high (blaring loud)and has to lowered. There are no other devices hooked up to he receiver. It is mounted as a stand-alone radio hooked directly to speakers.

Re: PCD120U volume issue

I think I know what your problem is ... if you hold down the menu/select button ( the button between the volume buttons) there will be a volume option it'll say P --- volume. I think that sets a default volume that the cd player will always reset to once the cd player is turned off then on again.

I want to install a unit into my work truck

go to a reputable stereo store and buy the wire harness connector for your truck to universal and one from universal to your stereo; also buy an installation kit for your model truck, (this will contain all the plastics necessary to fit the stereo to your dashboard),these usually contain several configurations for different vehicles so follow the instructions carefully. these may seem rather daunting at first, but if you fermiliarise yourself with all parts/instructions before starting it shouldn't be too hard or take too long; good luck

For a lack of what it is called from what I understand the volume on the stereo is supposed to get louder at certain time while you are driving. Well the volume just goes up and down for no apparent...

Beside the volume knob there is writing that should say "auto vol" and a control that look like a speaker fader control. That turns the sensitivity up or down. Or, if you have a Driver information center, hit menu and arrow right until you see auto volume and turn it "off" Without knowing the exact model # of your radio, that's about the best answer I can give.If that doesn't work, call the cadi parts dept, give them the last 6 numbers of your vehicle id number and they can get the exact model # of your radio to you. If you post another comment I can find the Pdf on your radio and get the exact answer for you. Hope this helps

Reset button location

If you cant find the reset button on the front of the radio you can either pull the plug out of the back for about 5 to 10 seconds or just pull the fuse that controll the constant wire of the radio. NOT the one that is in the fuse box on the inside of the car but the one under the hood for about 5 to 10 secs. Or undo the negative Battery terminal of the car battery for 5 to 10 secs.
Good Luck
