Question about D-Link AirPlus DI-524 Wireless Router
Hi! i am having problem with my DI 524 wireless router. I have two of this, one is connected to the modem and i am planning to use the other one as a repeater or bridge. One wireless router's range which is connected to modem is not sufficient co'z of wide space of our house. So i decided to buy another one to extend the range of my wireless connectivity. I am expecting buying another router will solve the problem but it's not. Can anyone help me with my problem please? I want to use both of the router to expand the range. What am i suppose to do? Hope you can help me. Your response is highly appreciated. Thank you very much.
Ubiman is right - in order to make a router into a repeater, you need a different firmware, which is not available for your model.
Think of it like this: you would need one antenna to receive the signal from the first router, and another antenna to relay the signal to your computer(s). Since your router only has one antenna, this is not possible.
The easiest way to solve this problem is to go and exchange the router into a repeater. That's the device you actually need.
