Question about VeriFone Omni 3700

Verifone VX510 Recently our office has cisco line (digital line) from analog lines and after switching to this our credit card terminals are not working it keeps saying line busy or cummincation error . Please suggest how to solve this problem , since we cannot have nay analog lines and these machines are givng problem

    i have a Vx570. we had the exact same problem. is you verifone plugged into a Cisco VG224 gateway too?
    the gateway is working fine, even with a normal phone, fax or pc dialup.
    get your verifone administrator to go thru the PQD settings with you. they know the admin passwords so they will get you to check some setttings.
    make sure the pdq has a prefix of 9 for anoutside (in UK).
    also check the *Z4 setting. it should set to 3.

    my PDQ works fine now. i can do sales transactions all day.
    i just cant update my currency rates.

Yes he is somewhat correct. At the main sale screen hit the option 6 usually the password is 1 Alpha Alpha 66831 if it gets you to the Terminal Phone COMMs screen it is good. Choose phone then next and choose PBX code that is what needs to be dialed out from your phone system to get an outside line IE: 9,,8,... once that is edited choose enter then exit if that doesnt work at teh main screen hit the more key or the tip key until you see other setup then the password again. 1 ALPHA ALPHA 66831 hit the tip or more key again until you see COMMS. Select it then hit next until you see baud rate hit edit and that field and then next until you see 300 hit enter then exit save changes hit ok then the red X key to get back to the sale screen try that.

Other fixes as well but it needs phone conversation.

Generally speaking, your terminal has to be programmed with PBX code within the terminal to match the requirements of the phone line. Remember that Analog phone lines are the most reliable in terms of interruption in service. Digital rollover lines don't always give a reliable signal and according to manufacturers specs, shouldn't be used. In practice though, they do work for daily transactions, but to download a new program file, they have not worked in my experience.

Hi, recently someone ask me to edit parameters PRNTISO and DEBUGISO, after I click restart, the machine(Verifone VX510) had problem to start up. Error "DOWNLOAD NEEDED *GO FILE NOT FOUND". I notice the some of the paramters was clear. Can someone help me.

Another solution might be if your credit card terminals have a Ethernet port you can reprogram to run through IP. Right now those machines are programmed to use a analog phone line. Those will not work unless you change the programming software to use IP or you install dedicated phone lines just for your credit card terminals. Look on your credit card terminal and see if there is a sticker that either has a 1800 number or your merchant services provider number. Merchant services providers are the ones that process the transactions that go through the credit card machines. Tell them you recently switched to using IP processing and you want to switch your credit card terminals to process through IP. They should run you through a process of building new files for each credit card machine and then instruct how to reprogram the machines after the files are built.

Not working


The only real reason this would not work is it is not hooked up to a phone/internet line or you are not set up properly with a processor. You have to establish a gateway and a merchant service depending on what forms of payment you are going to accept.

Why does my credit card machine give me a message of Please Try Again -CE?


CE is the error message it means COMMUNICATION ERROR
the machine is saying it cant communicate: meaning how is it connected to a phone line? you said you took off the splitter.
make sure the phone line is not faulty and is not too long of a cord and is not sharing with any device. the line you use to have on the splitter is it connected to a fax line > does it need a prefix (pabx code) to get an outside line : like a 9 to dial out?
try connecting the phone line from the machine directly to the phone jack and try to process a sale. good luck !

My verifone will not dial out. I have used several lines and even took it to the central office and connected directly to the analog line there. When i listen in monitor with a handtest set i do not hear...


The modem in the terminal is defective.
Confirm by having the terminal dial into your direct extension, if confirmed that the modem is not dialing out, like you did them the terminal will require service.

Will a veriphone 3750 work with Digital phone service? I keep getting a no dial tone error.


No, sorry, you will have communication problems on any digital or VOIP (voice over internet phone) lines. Analog phone providers is the only phone system that will take care of this problem.

Yes, digital phone lines work fine for credit card authorizations, because it's a quick dial out and transfering of data. But batching process takes longer and you will have communication problems with your terminal on any digital, VOIP, or cable phone lines. Analog is the only way to fix this problem. NO credit card machine is immune to this problem.

I am having a problem downloading on my Omni 3750. I have it hooked up to a phone line that only carries the terminal and when I go to download it says carrier lost. The processing company is not...


This usually means that there is a problem with the phone line. also these terminals are very sensitive to noise (static). Another solution is that the modem on the terminal can be damaged. If your processor is not helping maybe you should give me a call i would try to get you better rates and also trade you a working terminal for the damaged one that you have. If you cant use analog lines then you have a problem..What you need to do it replace the comm equip. to a DUAL COMM with IP services.. That should fix your issue
