The reason is that your colour cartridge has run out of ink. You need to replace your colour cartridge as well and try the alignment process again.

I finally got mine to run through the following process:
Pulled back out the black cartridge I had replaced and put it back in
Pulled out the color cartridge and put back in.
CLosed the cover and was prompted to print alignment page.
Placed alignment page on glass with 4 blocks to the left (as depicted on alignmnet sheet)
Press Okay to start alignment
Alignment was FINALLY succesful.
If I were to put anything on this troubleshooting, it was pulling BOTH cartridges back out and resetting them
