Unplug it for about an hour to let it reset itself and try again, if it still has problem then you will have to open it up or take it to the repair shop. The power supply module will have to be looked at first to make sure all the voltages are present. Right now the 5vdc standby power supply is working and may be partially function processor.

Depends on the DVD player outputs. First choice is a HDMI cable. Next best is Component video (3 plugs on each end - red, green and blue) with a two RCA plug audio cable (white and red). Next choice is composite or s-video (one plug, composite is an RCA (yellow), S-video looks like a larger version of the PS2 plug on an older keyboard or mouse) plus the audio cable.
