I have a coleman 5000 that won't hold voltage at 110 volts under load. It fluctuates up and down. The motor is running steady. What could be the cause of this?

govenor problem maybe does the engine sound slower when a load is on.
you will need something to read the power frequency

3000 rpm produces 50hz uk
3600 rpm produces 60hz

so if you have a meter to measure frequency you will also know what speed the engine is running at

Seems that your carberator maybe clogged at the jets. However, before you purchase a rebuild kit for your carberator make sure the fuel flow coming out of the fuel tank has a steady flow. Also, check for fuel filters, replace it if you have one on the genset.
