SOURCE: can't tighten clutch on Kenmore zig zag sewing machine.

The clutch has fallen off the shaft. Remove the very small screw in the clutch release screw to remove the clutch release. Place the clutch(round thing with ears on it) back on the shaft with the center ears pointing towards the outside. Put the clutch release screw back on. Tighten it to make sure it works
properly. Put the small screw back in the clutch release screw and test it again. If it will not tighten or release properly, remove the clutch ,rotate it180 degrees and try it again. This should solve your problem.

SOURCE: Thread is not coming up

YOUR PROBLEM IS THE TIMMING IN YOUR MACHINE. THIS HAPPENDS WHEN YOU FORCE YOUR MACHINE TO SEW SOMETHING OR WHEN YOUR NEEDLE BRAKES. nOT SURE HOW TO FIX IT. I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. USUALLY A TUNE-UP WOULD DO IT. IT'S ABOUT $99 TO $130.00 TO DO A TUNE UP. i WISH I KNEW HOW TO FIX IT MYSELF.

Jammed and needle bar will not move.no thread wrapped anywhere, hand wheel won't raise the bar either

1. Remove the needle and bobbin assemble completely.
2 Try to move the hand wheel - forcefully if necessary.
3. Place one drop of oil on race. That is the little dip that has been circled. The hook (pointed thing) must ride on this smoothly.
4. Try to move the hand wheel again. Back and forth until it will move without resistance.
5. Oil parts that move with metal against metal.
6. Replace the bobbin assembly. Try to rotate the hand wheel again. If it is ok you can replace the needle.
7. Try to rotate again. If it rotates smoothly you shouldn't have any further problems. If the needle strikes something under the throat plate you will need to get the sewing machine timed.

Industrial sewing machine has jammed, the wheel will not turn

Hello Christine, I think you do have a thread stuck between the rotary hook and the bobbin case carrier. Remove the bobbin case and bobbin. You will need to remove two small slotted head screws and remove the half circle locking ring that holds the bobbin case carrier in place. Try to wiggle the bobbin case carrier one way and than the other until it comes out of the rotary hook assembly. Don't pry too hard or you might damage the carrier and/or rotary hook assembly. Once removed, I think you will find the thread that is causing the lock up situation . Before reassembling, place a drop of oil on the bearing surfaces between the carrier and rotary hook assembly and also between the locking ring and the carrier.

Getting the cover off my brother cs 80. all screws have been removed and the cover comes off partially. I seems to be stuck at the turn wheel, like something is holding it fixed.

I had the same problem when opening my machine. The problem is a screw underneath the bobbin winder area. Pull the bobbin base off and then gently pull up the bobbin winder assembly from under the front cover. You will see a screw in the corner to remove so that you can complete the task. I had to purchase a service manual and then I had great success with replacing the bobbin winder "tire" (Bobbin Winder Tire, Babylock, Brother #X55238051 at sewingpartsonline.com - $3.99!!)

White sewing machine model 1805 can't get it to sew the wheel turns and belt is ok . It is like the wheel is frozen Do you change it after filling a bobbin?

If I recall correctly, to fill a bobbin you must first release the belt from the wheel by loosening the knob on the small machine wheel. Then after the bobbin is filled you need to tighten that knob again. Do you have the manual?

The wheel under the bobbin is stuck

Usually means there is lint or thread still in there, take your bobbin assembly apart then take a clean paint brush or something like that and clean it out real good. Your manual should tell you how to do this.

My machine won't spin the bobbin to thread it up on top. it sounds fine but it just won't spin it.

either the bobbin winder is seized or the rubber wheel has broken or come off. if it has seized you will need to dis-assemble it and clean out old gummed up oil and grease and re-assemble, or replace rubber wheel.

hi there;
well try to rotate hand wheel center holder clockwise while hold grift the handwheel not to move to engage the clutch, because ther is clutch that holding the movement of the needle and the bobbins case.if still nothing change at all, open a cover motor assembly chech the belt tension if still engage on pulley, maybe slip pulley is occuring when motor run,if belt is slip to pulley replace belt, but if ok upon clutch adjustment ignore replacement.

Brother SE-270D balance wheel is very hard to turn manually

This is the first and foremost problems that I've found: The bobbin case is packed full of threads. The needle is crooked and must be replaced.

1. The bobbin case has a hook that turns to catch the top thread when the needle is down. The bobbin case assembly must be removed and cleaned totally. The bobbin case assembly is where the bobbin sits. The bobbin case has a black bar that sits on top of it. Listen the forward screw and slide the bar slightly. You will need to move the hand wheel to move the hook to the front-most position. When you have done this the bobbin case will come out easily. Clean it thoroughly and put one drop of oil on the track. This is a lower spot where the bobbin case sits on top of. Before you put the bobbin back in you need to check the tension. It is intended to be even with the top tension.
2. Replace needle and make sure it is in totally and is seated the right direction.

HOPE THIS HELPS
