My printer only prints magenta\

A color or photo cartridge is either low, clogged or has run out of one of the basic colors it mixes together to create the colors in your images. The printer cannot print correctly if it lacks one of the basic colors, even if it still contains some of the other colors. The cartridge may also be clogged. The cartridge must be replaced

This may help

You can try to clean the printer head manually. To clean the printer head, remove the ink cartridge from the printer. Moisten a cotton swab by dipping it in hot water or isopropyl alcohol, and then gently wipe the printer head. Do this repeatedly until it softens the dried ink.

For models where the printer head is located in the printer, you can put 7 to 10 drops of isopropyl alcohol in the ink receptacle where the ink flows from the cartridge to the head. Turn the printer to self-cleaning mode. You can also leave it for a few hours or overnight before repeating the self-cleaning mode.

If the print head is located in the cartridge, soak the print head in hot water and let it soak overnight. Dry the print head part using a paper towel and switch it to self-cleaning mode.

If the hot water soak does not work, place the cartridge printer head in isopropyl alcohol and let it soak overnight. Wipe off the soaked area and dry it carefully using a damp paper towel. Turn the printer to self-cleaning mode to remove any dried ink.

Black ink in printer not printing out but color ink prints out fine

The black print head is faulty or blocked.
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

Don't print the black color

Doing reference on your issue. Double check the ink cartridge to make sure that the cartridge is correctly installed. Also be sure that the black ink cartridge used is compatible with the machine.

The next thing to do is a cartridge cleaning as the belief is that the print head is blocked. If you have done a thurough cleaning, the next thing to do is replace the black ink cartridge to be certain the ink cartridge is not faulty.

I have included print head cleaning instructions in case you have not done this cleaning process.

here is some information from the Brother support site:

If one or more of the ink colors are missing from pages printed by your machine (i.e. received faxes, copies and/or documents printed from the PC etc), nozzles in the print head may be clogged, or the ink cartridge in question may not be installed correctly. Verifying that the ink cartridges are installed correctly and/or cleaning the print head may solve the problem.

Cleaning the print head may solve the problem. When cleaning the print head, you are given the option to clean BLACK ONLY, one of the three colors (CYAN, YELLOW, or MAGENTA), or all four colors at once. For this issue we recommend cleaning only the affected color. If more than one color is missing then choose ALL.

When the machine completes cleaning the print head, press Color Start. A Print Quality Check Sheet will print.

Have replaced black ink inMP150, cleaned ans aligned heads etc but still wont print in black. will print in blue have I disturbed another setting (black?)

Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . It is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the command , can be an issue with ink drying , can also be poor ink cartridge contacts

There are many reasons for this problem.but some very common possibilities are as follows:--- 1) The color cartridge in the printer is near to this case replace the cartridge and check out. 2) The other reason is that color cartridge is not empty but the color in it is got dried up .In this case also the cartridge needs to be replaced. 3) Many times this problem occurs after the cartridge is refilled.or you are using re-cycled cartridges instead of original cartridges. BUT if you are using original Epson cartridge, the cartridge is not empty and the ink is is not dried up.Still you have this problem then, its the problem of the print head of the cartridge. In the printer where you insert the cartridge below that there is a print-head.In the print-head there are many tiny holes. From this holes the ink passes for printing on paper. But if this holes are blocked then ink will not pass even from the new cartridge. In this case the print head needs cleaning. From the PC in printer properties there is a option called"CLEAN THE PRINT CARTRIDGES" but this is automatic cleaning. But if the ink is jammed very hard then this automatic cleaning will not help. The print head will require manual cleaning. And for that the printer needs to be opened and print head needs to be removed. If the printer is under warranty then its advisable to get the print head cleaned by Epson service center but if its out of warranty then you get it done by local printer repair tech. But if the ink is stuck up very hard then the print head needs to be replaced. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

I have an Epson Stylus CX5500, i currently replaced the cartridge with Miro Jet cartridge which is compatible with this tpye of printer. i started printing and the colours come ut incorrect. Also how do...

You can clean the heads with software function.
Open epson print center maintenance clean head. Or Right click on printer icon on task bar, Select clean head.

Even though the Miro cartridge is compatible the ink color, texture, drying time, is different. Resulting in colors coming out wrong. Try going to Miro jets site & download printer driver or color correction file for your printer. Most provide them.

Good Luck!

Canon i960 printer won't print in blue

Your problem is the print head. You can buy one from Canon for about $95, or find them new from dealers on Ebay for $60 to $70. For a less expensive fix, try to remove the print head and clean it. (You don't need any tools, just remove the ink tanks and pull the print head forward and out. Over time, the receivers tend to get dry & crusted ink on them. Note that the inks used are fast drying inks to keep your pictures, etc. from smudging after you print them. Try not to use solvent. I use q-tips and hot water, then dry using another q-tip. If this does not work, there are commercial cleaning kits available for about $10. Short of that, your choice is to replace the print head or the printer itself. My i960 prints such good quality color prints and normal color printing, that I would fix it rather than replace the printer. I hope the easy cleaning does it for you!

Officejet d135 - "Supply Expired" error message

HP, in order to sell more ink, monitors the expiration date of the cartridges installed. Solution is either to buy a new unexpired cartridge from HP or to disable the date monitoring built in to the printer. This latter is done by removing the button cell located inside the D135 printer on the left hand side or by simply slipping a thin piece of plastic between button cell and metal contact. You will no longer have date function on printer, but it won't object to expired cartridges either.

Printer cartridge problem

I have a 440 and have had the same problem. Of course, I have been using cartridges from Printpal, Inkgrabber, etc. that are not official Epson. I have found that it takes several cleanings and after the cartridge has been in the position for the ink to go down it will start. My last order from Printpal said to set all the cartridges in the position they are in when installed in the printer for several days prior to installation. Of course, every cleaning of the print head uses up more of your ink. You don't have much choice though.
