Lamp modules on hp highdef tv wont last hardly a year.had to replace two so far&looks like #3now.both times hp has made them good but this is too much trouble
If the power switch LED is flashing, chances are the set experienced a short duration power interuption. There are two ways to recover. One is to unplug the set from the wall. The other is to hold the power button in for at least 5 seconds. The power button LED will flash quickly indicating a reset. After about a minute the set should be able to be turned on. These TV's experience a very short lifespan, typically about 3000 hours. If the above instructions haven't solved the problem then check the lamp.

Richard,
Could be a bad spark gap on the ballast board. Should have a tech come in a do some Hv testing to see whether the ballast should be replaced, could make the difference on getting the lamp to last 1000 hrs or 3000 hrs...

i actually own this tv myself... that striking you here will only occur when the lamp does not fire. as far as lamp life i have found that mitsubishi has the longest lasting bulbs from my experience. i would check to make sure the connector on the lamp is seated properly into the other connector in the tv. if you know your lamp is 100% i would look at replacing the lamp ballast. ive had this tv for a few yrs now and love it.

My HP ID5220 picture won't come on. The on button just flashes blue.
