Electric ge hotpoint 317b6641p001

The burner is just a plug in unit. Take off the plate on the top and lift up on the opposite side for the burner from where it is plugged in. Give it a pull and it will come out just fine and plug the new one in.

Replace igniter on hotpoint gas oven

REMEMBER TO UNPLUG YOU UNIT> The oven igniter is located under a metal plate. Remove the oven door so that you can slide out the flat cover to expose this plate. There are four screws holding down the plate. Once you remove this plate the igniter will be exposed. Hint: The screws holding the igniter in place are difficult to loosen if you dont have the correct socket for it. Once you do remove the two screws holding the igniter, pull the igniter until the connector plug comes out and replace it.

The Broiler igniter is easier to access. Remove one screw from the plate covering the gas manifold. Then loosen the one towards the front. Pivot this metal cover ccw to get it out of the way and using a socket, remove the two screws holding down the igniter and pull it out until the connector is exposed. Install in reverse order.

Electric Hotpoint range - has a intermintant beep 24/7 & oven will not stay on

You will need toreplace the control board on that unit. GE owns Hotpoint and all parts will come from GE the part states (gas) but it is the correct part for your unit. Here is the part to order.

Can't find model number for old Hotpoint custom oven

Hi Marcia,

It's going to be difficult to locate parts based on a catalog number - as you have learned, parts are based on model numbers.

You may want to do a little bit of testing before you embark on finding a replacement element. I would remove the element from the plug in socket and measure resistance of the element itself (20 to 40 ohms is typical), or voltage at the socket with the oven set to turn on the bottom element. Assuming a 240 volt oven, you should see this same voltage present at the socket. If you do have the voltage, locate a replacement element. If you do NOT have this voltage, you need to locate the source of the failure and have it repaired or replaced. You should inspect the metal plate on the element to see if a part number is present on it - as that will solve your parts identification issue.

There's not a huge difference in a lot of these elements besides physical dimensions of the element and between the connections for the socket. Have a look at these Hotpoint parts & GE parts and see if any of them looks like yours and then go from there. Some of the appliance repair parts sites might even be able to help you with the catalog number issue, too.

I hope this helps & good luck!

Stirrer Motor Part Number PS237771 GE Microwave

Quite possibly the Stirrer/ antenna motor. To Replace that, the outer cover of the machine must be removed. Unplug unit and take off the screws on the back of the unit and pull the cover back toward you and it will come off. The antenna motor is on the top of the unit and is only held on with 2 screws. You take off the two screws and lift it off of the unit. when replacing it you have to make sure the antenna is properly positioned on the shaft of the new motor to make sure it will turn properly. Not a difficult repair.
