SOURCE: Hi. our Sharp R242 Microwave

I saw an answer for this problem on a blog, and although it's for a slightly different model than yours, it's the exact same problem and they mention what to try to fix it:
This was my initial thought...that the display isn't receiving information and going into the error code, which would be because of a loose ribbon connector, which carries the signals needed for operation. When you take it apart, be careful not to touch the high voltage capacitors- you can discharge them with a screwdriver blade by shorting them out, or cover them with electrical tape, temporarily.
Here's a web page that talks about how to check various microwave parts, and may be of help to identify the capacitor:
Good luck, and hope this helps you get it fixed.

SOURCE: Sharp Microwave R246. Power Failure

Press the "Off/Clear' button to cancel anything on the display, and reset the microwave. This is a soft reset and will simply get you out of any program you have started. Press it when the cooking complete reminder appears on the display.
Perform a hard reset. Pull the plug out of the wall power supply, and wait a moment. Plug the microwave back into the wall power supply to reset any anomalies with the microwave's memory. You will need to reset the time of day if you perform a hard reset. This should help fix the problem.

    Your keypad has failed.

It would need a new control panel frame, which comes with the keypad.

You simply remove the circuit board and plug it into the new frame.

It is part # FPNLCB070WRK0 and the best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics.
