Question about HP Computers & Internet
Before I open anything by short cut icons, I would also like to have a short cut icon for Open Office 3.4
Start>All Programmes>Right click on "Open Office">Send to>Desktop
Then you will find the short cut icon on your Desktop.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Sounds like your registry might be a little "Off". Please download this program
Run it and restart your computer.
Also, go to your Control Panel, select Mouse, and choose to have the mouse operate on the left.

Most likely the problem is that the association for .exe programs has been lost or changed, Commonly caused by malware/etc that tells you everything you have has a virus in it (super annoying)
Opey My Documents or My Computer, Select Tools ' Folder Options then the File Types Tab. Scroll down to where .EXE would be in the alphabetical order and make certain .EXE is not there (if it is, then edit it there by changing the association to Application). Finally, select the New button, type in EXE for the extension and select the Advanced button. From the list pick "Application." It should look something like this. While not shown on the picture above there should be a "Restore" button you can click. If so, use that and, hopefully, this should cure the problem (thanks to forum member diginono for finding and posting this solution). The Restore button only shows up when there is a problem on the system.
If this works but there is still a problem with LNK files then scroll down to the end of this FAQ for a solution to that.
If that doesn't work, Here is the full page on it.
