Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
It doesn't appear that you can set the audio output to be on optical AND HDMI simutaneously. I would like to be able to play BD audio through the optical to my receiver, and play game audio direct to the TV through HDMI (without reconfiguring each time). Is there a way to do this? Is there a firmware fix? or is this a BIG screwup on Sony;s part?
I'm almost positive it cannot stream the sound through two outputs by design. However if your TV has a digital optical output you can run it to the TV via HDMI and from the TV to the receiver go with the optical. It shouldn't bother the quality at all being HDMI is also a digital interface, you're just passing it through your TV.
