These machines have a metal ball (like a small trailer hitch ball) mounted on the rear of the drum that rides in a plastic saddle mounted on the rear of the machine,
The parts that you need to replace would be the plastic glides mounted in the front of the drum that run on teflon pads glued to the rim around the door. When they get bad you start to notice dammaged clothing.
The drum is allowed to sag down enough that clothing can get into the gap at the bottom and as the drum turns upward the items get pinched when the gap closes at the top.
All these parts can be replaced but be prepared if you do it yourself, this is a tough machine to work on.

Sounds like it is worn out. Get a parts diagram and take it apart and see what parts are missing or worn out. The belt is probably coming apart and that is the black stuff. There are several plastic wear plates and a bearing/bushing for the drum, plus the belt idler and all these can wear out. The motor could also have a bad bushing in it but more than likely that will require a new motor as they don't usually sell just the bushing or end caps.

Washer- you need a complete tub and bearring kit. this is a common problem for people who have well water. (also just happens) the rear yoke has become corroded and broken. its a costly repair.
dryer - you would need a new front slider seal. very simple to install.

most likely transmission bearings are worn out (sounds like a jet plane taking off) unfortunately this requires replacing the transmission which is a costly job.

Tips for a great answer:
Sir/Mam the Drum Motor is failing to turn the drum it self mite be jammed. Not allowing the motor to turn . Remove the drum cartridge. And see if you can turn the drum with your fingers DO NOT TOUCH The color part of the drum turn by both thumbs on the edge of the drum TURN CLOCKWISE if you turn Counter clockwise you will flip the cleaning blade that is not good. The cleaning blade removes the old toner before the new image is placed on the drum if it looks yellow then get a new one and replace it. IF you think the drum is stuck to the cleaning blade then for about a half inch push the drum counter clockwise the then clockwise. Also might remove he drum to see if its jammed. Also the motor might be bad or the circuit board that replaces it. Hope this works for you
