Question about Sewing Machines
Try changing the needle--make sure the needle is the right one for
the fabric being sewed, and also inserted the right way in the needle
holder and all the way up into the needle holder
try rethreading the machine top and bobbin--make sure every
thread guide is used
make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case
if none of these suggestion help then the machine needs to be
checked to see if there is a problem with the timing.

SOURCE: My Janome Harmony 1017 won't
when the fabric does not move then the feed dogs under the needle plate need to be checked to see if there up or down.
if the feed dogs are down then the lever or switch needs to be pushed up into the correct position
if the feed dogs are up & they are not moving the fabric like there suppose to, cause it's there job to move the fabric against the presser foot,, then they need to be check
the gears that do the zig zag stitches should be checked to make sure there not worn & weather they might need be be greased

Be sure not to use Singer Needles. They are longer than standard needles. Don't know if this helps, but I did this once on my Huskystar 207 and that is what happened. It also damaged the bobbin thread.

Check that you have a new needle inseted all the way UP in the needle bar shaft threaded front to back, flat side at back of needle bar and make sure presser foot in the up position BEFORE threading to open up the tension discs fully. Make sure you leave enough thread tail to accommodate turning the handwheel toward you so that the thread isn't falling out of the needle. I would oil and lube it too when you get the chance. Here's a web site to help you with that and the timing, tension, cleaning the race shuttle bobbin area, etc. on your machine: http://www.fixsewingmachine.com I hope this helps, Rachel.Jimmy

Since your machine is brand new, it is under warranty. Take it back to the dealer you purchased it from and have them repair it. If you try any repairs yourself, or by a 3rd party, that will probably void your warranty.
