Question about Zanussi F1245W Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Blowing Fuses.... My washer blew its fuse, and went pop from the lower front left hand corner. When I laid it over to look at the fault, there was a bit of water under a plastic sheet which covers 2 terminals on a long 12" plastic box,to which the pump is connected to on the right hand side, and the fluff filter also connects to this box. I dried it completely, covered it with a bag,(in case there was a slight drip somewhere),but when I tirned it on the fuse blew again! - It did not blow straight away,as it seemed ok for a start, but when I think it reached the setting to 'wash' and put the water in,there was a humm sound, and little else, then it blew again. The door seal is brand new, and I cannot see any obvious fault with the machine.....please help :0 Thank you..

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but with such a major fault it is virtually impossible for anybody on this forum to remotely guess what is wrong with your washer. It could be internal wiring/plugs sockets, control panel switches, control PCB. I fear that your only real option is a service call as the engineer will have the right equipment to safely diagnose what is wrong.
Sorry again and good luck,
John C

"F-01 error after pushing start button

Hi, the technician manual is located under the lower front panel. There are three possible reasons for F0: 1) EEPROM ERROOR. Unplug a washer for two minutes. Try running it again. (Did not work for me). 2) MAIN RELAYS ERROR. The tech manual suggests replacing CCU. The following is what I did and it fixed the problem, however. Unplug the washer. Remove the top cover by removing the three screws on the back. The CCU unit is in the right bottom corner if standing in front of the washer – it has a lot of wiring. Plug in the unit. While listening to the CCU start any washing cycle. After pressing START you should hear the relay to click. If it clicks twice, within a less than a second, it has a problem. Unplug the washer. Without disconnecting any wires remove the CCU cage from the washer wall. Stand now on the right hand side of the washer in such way that the CCU cage is under your left hand. Pull the right upper corner of the CCU plastic cage (it has a tab) away from you, slide the cage to the right by about an inch, and pull the entire cage away from you. Now knock on the back side of the cage 4-5 times with a bit of force (watch “Armageddon” movie for more instructions on it). Install the CCU cage back. Plug in the unit. Try some washing cycle again. If it did not help, repeat the procedure. If it did not work again, see the following. 3) PUMP DRIVE ERROR. The tech manual suggests replacing CCU.

F28 code on whirlpool duet washer. The door locks

F28 is a serial bus error from the CCU (Central Control Unit) to the MCU (Motor Control Unit).

All you need is some Electronics contact cleaner spray and a 1/4 inch socket to remove the top of the machine and the back of the machine.
The CCU is the computer looking box at the top front right hand corner.
Find connector M13, (has red marking on it and only 3 wires) disconnect it by pushing the retainer tab back and pulling gently on the connector.
Spray the contacts of the connector and computer with connector cleaner.
Then re-assemble connector.
The MCU is in the back lower left corner.
Find the connector with 3 wires and red mark, and remove this connector in the same way you did the other, spray it and re-install.
Put the back and top back on.

What ha happend is the door interlock shorted and blew the rcd. However in doing so it al blew a triac on the timer..

This is very easy to repair if you know how to get to the timer... but you also have to replace the door inter lock...

Solder a bit of wire between the connections on the timer...

If you follow the neutral wire back fro mthe door interlock upto the timer then you will see what i mean by it blowing the triac...

Fuse keeps blowing out in my maytag washing machine

the power surge probably shorted out something in the main wire harness or fried your motor. remove the screws from the control panel and look for any wires that are discolored, charred or disconnected. in the event you do't find it there trace the wiring thru the cabinet looking for the same thing. if you don't find that, replace the motor
