Hi, i have a D link 504T router. I have recently changed internet providers, so i had to access the router admin, i did this by reseting the router. Now when i type in 10.1.1.1 i get the username/password page, but it does not accept admin/admin, or should i say it shows a blank I.E page with "done" at the bottom with an error symbol.
I have pinged the router and it works fine.
I have also updated firmware, but that made no difference either.
I have just about tried everything!
Suggestions would be much appreciated

Re: DSL-504T Router - not connecting?
Try using the D-Link Click'n Connect Utility.
Admin is the correct code for both the user name and password.
10.1.1.1 is the correct IP address for the setup page.
You may need to reset the router again by holding the reset button in for 30 seconds until the lights flash off then on.
Here is the setup manual:

No driver needed since you aren't connecting the pc the the modem, but to the router.
Connect the pc to the D-Link DSL-504T with a LAN cable, access it from a browser by going to this IP - 192.168.0.1 - , in there access the modem settings and configure it accordingly.
You need to configure your router. For that Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Click on WAN settings and set those settings as your internet service provider settings. Enable DHCP if you want to get ip from router. Clickon wireless settings enable wireless then enable WEP Security then add WEP code .It isyour password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and restart router. Then you can connect your wi fi network with that code. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
If you are setting up a new router for DSL connection, i presume that you already know the login credentials to access your router's admin interface. By default, depending on your router's model, you can access and configure it at http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 using a web browser and make sure that computer you are using is connected to the router through an ethernet cable.
Default login credentials: user name: admin password: admin (or try also leaving it blank)
When you are at the web interface, go to a link known as SETUP and there you can setup your connection. If your DSL provides you a user name and password, then you can also enter them there. Then save your settings.
To allow internet broadcasting using wifi, go to a link known as "WIRELESS" and setup encryption there using WAP, WPA2, or WEP or any other recommended encryption protocol. Through this, you can prevent other users near your place to use your internet connection without informing you.
For that you need to access your router configuration. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password" Then you can see configuration page of router . Click on WAN settings and set network settings of your internet service provider. If you want ip address from your network then enable DHCP. If you want wireless click on wireless and set security as WEP if you want to secure. Then save settings and restart router. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
First Reattch all connection to router then check. If still not working then you need RESET all settings of router to defaults. For that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router press it. Then connect your router to computer then access it with these link http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 type user name as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password" thenconfigure again.
If you have a dynamic IP on your wan port you shall register a domain name and register it with dynamic DNS, provide your dynamic dns name in your DSL router so that you shall connect to your DSL router by calling the registered dynamic dns name from any where (you should have internet connection).
1. Register a name in dyndns.com 2. update this on your dsl router
Wait for some time,
3. access the registered name from anywhere using a browser
make sure the dsl modem is in bridge mode. you do this by connecting directly to the modem then accessing modem configuration page. after doing this connect the way everything was before. now go to router admin page, then setup tab at the top, then choose internet, manual setup. in the place where its says my internet connection is select PPPoE. then put in your dsl username, password and etc. save settings. this should fix the problem
This should be connected as so. From wall outlet to DSL modem, from DSL modem to D-Link router, From D-Link router to Laptop via wireless or wired connection. You will still need the DSL modem installed but the wire coming from the DSL modem will go to uplink port on the router instead of into the laptop.
