Inverter output can vary, but anything greater than 150 volts with a high impedance meter (with a capacity of 2000 volts) can be considered good. The meter loads the circuit by itself and normally the RMS voltage that most meters register is lower than the peak to peak voltage of the circuit. If a scope is used, use a 10:1 reduction probe, and your voltages can be anywhere from 300 volts to 1200 volts with 650 to 750 being the normally accepted good range. Where your brightness control is set will have direct impact on the voltage you see.

To solving the problem of Dark Screen of Laptop there are a few things to determine to see what the problem is. <br /> The first thing I would advise to be done is to check your laptop with an external monitor to make sure that it is not the video chip that went bad. So connect your laptop to an external monitor and see if you get a picture (you might have to press the fn and one of the f1 , f2 , f3 etc....keys together to switch the output to an external display , If you get a picture on the external monitor you know it is not the motherboard , (whew, was getting scared already). If you don't get a picture on the external monitor make sure it is plugged in correctly and that you pressed the correct keys to have the output signal go to the external monitor. If you are sure you did all of the above steps correctly , then shut off the computer and try pressing down on the keyboard while powering up the laptop and see if you get an image. Sometimes if a computer has a loose connection between the GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) and the motherboard it will result in no video or flaky video , so try pressing down on the keyboard while powering on and try see if you get video. If you get a video output then you will know that it is a flaky video chip and that will have to be fixed. <br /> Inverter is usually at the bottom of the screen. Now back to if you got a picture on an external display. Once you got a picture on the external monitor and established that it is not the video chip or motherboard you will have to try to determine if it is the lcd screen itself or if it is the inverter. The inverter is a small electronic board that controls the voltage that is sent to the backlight (the light bulb of the laptop screen) of the lcd screen. If the inverter breaks or dies then no voltage gets to the backlight resulting in no video output signal to the display. In my experience, I see that most of the times it is the inverter that is the problem and that is a pretty easy fix , you just have to get the correct inverter that supplies the right amount of voltage and you will be back in business. Another simpler way is to shine a flashlight on the lcd , if you see a faint image then in most cases it is the backlight that needs to be replaced. 5920G motherboard, the inverter output voltage


The inverter voltage varies from as low as 800v to 1800v and it depends upon the of the CCFL lamp.
The inverter of laptops are located at the bottom of the LCD screen between the hinges.

Hitachi L26D103. Less than 2 years old. Working fine one day. Turned on the next day and the sound works, but not the picture. This is an issue when in both the TV and DVD modes.

If your TV doesn't have a picture even you play a DVD it means there is problem to your TV.It could be the Inverter board or the cold cathode lights is busted.


This are the steps on how to fix that problem.
  1. Remove the back cover of your TV.
  2. After that,plug in the TV and power it ON to perform a voltage data.
  3. Check the the output voltage of your power supply by using multimeter tester (range in DC) then check the 24vdc(supply of inverter board).
  4. If you have 24vdc in power supply output,check also the input voltage of inverter board if have 24vdc.If doesn't check the wire connection from power supply to the inverter board.
  5. If have you input voltage of inverter then check the high voltage output of it,if have at least 500vdc so be careful to check it because it have a high voltage.
  6. If doesn't have high voltage output replace the inverter board and if have a output voltage the cold cathode lamp inside is busted so you have to replace it

When started all i get is a dark screen

The screen is dark but i can see the desktop icons


The backlight is out - two causes. The Inverter is bad or the backlight florescent bulb itself is bad. You can check the inverter by plugging in a know good lamp to its' output. Becareful because it produces a very high voltage enough to shock you. Usually, the inverter goes out. You can connect an external monitor to the VGA output and see if produces an image. If it's good, more than likely the above components are bad and it's not the motherboard.

you need to check first the power supply board whether the output supply 12-24vdc for the inverter board is stable and not flactuating..you can measure the output voltage with a multitester..you get a voltage output of 12-24 with the inverter board is connected or loaded to the system.be carefull of the high voltage at the inverter board..once the output is stable replace the inverter board or you can measure the output of the inverter be very carefull..the output range upto 500vac.be carefull..if the high voltage is stable replace the lamps...tnx and good luck..

Xantrex Inverter/Charger has no AC output

Checking AC Output
1. After the battery voltage and connections have been checked, disconnect the inverter.s AC output wires from
the power distribution system and connect a light to the AC output of the inverter/charger.
2. Disconnect the remote panel to eliminate it as a possible problem.
3. Turn the inverter ON using the power switch on the front panel of the inverter. The 100-watt light should
illuminate. Measure the voltage at the AC output wires using the multimeter. The reading should be 114.126
VAC or approximately 230 VAC if the unit is an international model. If the light does not illuminate, there is
a problem with the inverter. Contact Xantrex technical support.

Output voltage unable to get above 90 V AC on battery tried on running car and only got 90 Volt AC also.


With the car voltage at 13.8V and you have less then a 400 Watt load the inverter is probably bad. The output voltage is not adjustable by the user.
