Hello, My picture has gotten very dim and dark. I was told my bulbs need cleaning. How can I do this by myself or do I have to hire someone to do this for me. Thank you, Debbie

Its more likely that the CRT coolant needs replacement. Thats vert famous for that model. The CRT coolant gets messed up and the CRTs cant project the image properly so it gets a dull picture and the color tints are wrong.

I don't know of anyone who can donate a lamp, but I have done research and you can actually purchase a lamp off of ebay for $85.99 and then have the technician install it. Here is a link to the ebay site where the lamp is located.

Philips Magnavox 9p6034c bulb is bad

If you have to replace one, they are very difficult to pull out and replace. You must do a convergence on the color of the tube you replace. You will be replacing a picture tube not a bulb. You may need to replace the fluid in the one tube. Or you may have a convergence problem. You need a TV tech to reveal that the problem is not a bad picture tube....which is rare in your case! Good Luck and thanks for asking!

Sams club warranty problem

The bulbs aren't normally covered after the first year. Some extended warranty companies used to cover the bulbs after that, but now since the economy is bad... a lot of companies are trying to save money by not covering the lamps anymore. And the ones that did are handing the warranties over to other companies. You probably will just have to buy one yourself or you will just be chasing your tail.

Magnavox big screen problem

Its not the bulb.
When it comes on is it real bright?
Did you loose the audio also?
Any other symptoms prior to having this problem?

CRT Coolant Bulbs

You can try the vendor of your set Magnavox (Philips) or you can try http://www.electronix.com

Your best bet would be from the vendor (philips)
http://www.philips.com (choose the USA site)

Thank you,

Coloring going out on big screen

the tubes go for around 300 each and you have 3 of them, But you dont need new tubes. Change the CRT coolant and you will see your color will come back and so wont the clarity.
