Make sure that the heating element is not shorted to the cabinet. Usually when you replace the hi limit you should replace the thermastate along with it. What is the brand of the dryer?

Check and make sure that your heating element is not shorted to that cabinet. also any time you replace the hi limit you want to replace the thermistate along with it. Is the heating element glowing when you open the door usually you would see this if you where looking in the back left of the dryer? If so the element is shorted and you need a new one.

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description I`d direct you to first check the hi-temp cut out at the back...if you haven`t already.

It will look like this on the Asko dryers...

7995fe6.jpg

If you push this to reset and the unit works, great. I would keep an eye on it though since the hi-limit typically trips for a reason such as a excessive long vent or flex vent being used ( stay away from flex venting ) plugged lint filter, plugged vent ot partially plugged etc.

If it doesn`t run after-wards or it`s not tripped, you`ll need to investigate further...if necessary.

Keep me posted on your progress or what you find and I'll help in whatever manner I can. Good luck.

Macmarkus :)

If you push this to reset and the unit works, great. I would keep an eye on it though since the hi-limit typically trips for a reason such as a plugged lint filter, plugged vent ot partially plugged or the heater itself is plugged up with lint.

Take the lint filter and clean it under some warm water and soap as they do become plugged with wax over time due to fabric softener and static sheets...when present/used regularly

If it doesn`t run after-wards or it`s not tripped, you`ll need to investigate for a faulty heater element. This is quite involved, so we`ll cross that bridge when you get there...if necessary.

Dryer turns but no heat?

Hello, Welcome to FixYa. Based on your description I`d direct you to first check the hi-temp cut out ( safety ) at the back ( black rubber round button )...if you haven`t already. This is quite common on the Asko dryers like yours. If you push this to reset and the unit works, great. I would keep an eye on it though since the hi-limit typically trips for a reason such as a plugged lint filter, plugged vent ot partially plugged or the heater itself is plugged up with lint. Take the lint filter and clean it under some warm water and soap as they do become plugged with wax over time due to fabric softener and static sheets, thus causing the safety to trip. If it doesn`t heat after-wards or it`s not tripped, you`ll need to investigate for a faulty heater element. This is quite involved, so we`ll cross that bridge when you get there...if necessary. Keep me posted on your progress or what you find and then if you require further assistance. Thanks for choosing FixYa. Please take a second to rate the info I provided accordingly. Thanks again and good luck. Regards, Macmarkus :)

Hello Susan, Welcome to FixYa. Have you checked to see if perhaps one or both of the fuses may have blown at the back of the unit...I don't mean the hi-limit that you already referred to...I mean the in-line fuses the Asko machines are equipped with. Let me know and we can move forward from here. Regards, Macmarkus :)

How to change dryer belt on Asko 7305 dryer

You have to pull the back off the dryer. Then you,ll be able to see how it comes off.Ussally its on two pulleys similar to a car. There may be a tensioner on it to to keep it from slipping. If there is one you,ll have to losen it to remove the belt & replace it,then tighten the tensioner back up.Ussally you keep about a 1/4" to 1/2" free play on the belt. You use a sraight edge on the two pulleys to measure it with the belt on,tighten belt tensioner till you have the recommended tighteness.
