Even though you believe ink is still in the cartridge, your printer may not be able to sense this ink and may erroneously report that the cartridge is spent. If you receive this warning, remove the cartridge, turn off the printer and unplug it from the electricity. Wait 10 minutes. Restore the power and reinstall the cartridge as if it were brand-new. In many cases, the last bit of ink can be accessed after all--at least enough to produce a few more pages before the warning reappears.

Says to empty used toner, did that, and still says empty used toner, how can i fix this?

Did you empty the bottle and put a new empty bottle on...OR did you empty the bottle and put the empty "dirty" bottle back on.????
The bottle has to be clean or the sensors that look at the bottle will still think its full.

Printer keeps telling me that the yellow cart is empty and I have put a new one in

Are you positive it says the yellow cart is empty? Because that brother printer is designed to say that a cartridge is empty whenever ANY of the color cartridges are empty. Usually it doesn't tell you which one is really empty either. So even if you replaced the yellow cartridge and say, the black cartridge is empty, it still won't let you print until you replace that empty black cartridge, nor will you know which of the cartridges is empty unless you pull them out of the printer and manually check the ink levels.

Its pretty much a guessing game with those old brother ink printers.

Hope this helps :)

Getting Waste Ink Asborber is Full message, What do Ineed to do to fix it?

The waste ink absorbers are usually small pads at the bottom of the printer. You need to pull them. This is usually messy and can require basically taking apart the printer. Then either replace (contact a service center) or rinse clean the pads (just running water works). Once the pads are dry (if reusing them), reinstall them.

Then reset the counter:
1) Close the print head cover, and turn off the printer. While pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press the Power button. (Do not release the buttons. The LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)

2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (Do not release the Power button.)

3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button three times, and then release the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.) During initialization, the LED blinks in green.

4) When the LED stops blinking and lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button the 4 times. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.)

5) Press the Power button. The LED lights in green, and the
selected function is performed. (When the operation completes, the printer returns to the menu selection mode automatically.)

6) Power off then back on and test.

Do not do the reset until the ink absorber is cleaned. The waste ink will get everywhere in the printer and the pages you print.

I hope this helps.

(most ink jets are really designed to be replaced if the waste ink absorber is full - the other parts may soon fail too.)

PIXMA IP1800 INK ASBORBER IS ALMOST FULL . WHAT DO I DO TO SAVE THE PRINTER.

When the ink absorber gets full you need to take the printer to the shop. The printer has to be completely taken apart to replace the absorber which covers the whole bottom of the machine. After that you need to get to the diagnostic mode which only Canon techs can do, and reset the absorber counts. In my shop the repair runs around $80.00

Elantra Backdoor shuts closed and does not stay open.

replace the hatch struts. I'm assuming you're talking about the back hatch. There should be 1 or 2 struts (look like shock asborbers), they've probably gone bad.
