Does the haed unit have the option to turn off remote wire? I know mine does. Check to see if you have power to your remote wire at the amp when you turn it on. If it dont then chances are it is time to get out the head unit manual and find amp or remote turn on.

  • Anonymous Jan 07, 2009

WARNING WILL LEAVE BAD FEEDBACK NO MATTER WHAT

  • Anonymous Jan 07, 2009

THE REMOTE WIRE DOES NOT HAVE 12 VOLTS GOING TO IT EITHER YOU LIED ABOUT CHECKING IT OR IT NEEDS A PROFESIONAL........REMOTE WIRE ONLY TAKES ABOUT 3 VOLTS BECAUSE YOU HEAD UNIT WONT GIVE ITS MAXIMUM INTAKE. OTHERWISE IT WOULD JUST BYPASS THE HEAD UNIT.........SO CHECK IT WITH A VOLT METER NOT A DOLLAR NINTY NINE WIRE TESTER.......

I have a pioneer GM-X524 amp connected to a TS-W253C subwoofer and it isn't working. It has 12v power to it and a solid ground, but the power light wont come on and the sub isnt working

there should be 3 power related cables connected to the amplifier:

1-From battery to amp via fuse (positive)
2-From chassis of car to amplifier (negative)
3-From head units (power continuous) (blue or blue/white cable) to the amplifiers remote connection.
this connection enables the amplifier to switch on when the head unit is switched on and off when the headunit is switched off.
I hope this helps and let me know if I can further assist you.

Where is the power switch, or how do you get the power running through to get blue light to turn on?

There is a terminal marked REM it's between the + 12 volt and Ground terminal.
The REM terminal needs a power source connected to it to turn the amp on and off. It's usually the blue remote wire coming off the head unit.
This turns the amp on when your head unit is on and turns the amp off when the head units off.

Pioneer amp wont come on. no light.

power light uses a resistor , it may be bad , try to use seperate turn on instead of splitting them close to ampo or right to it, try to use turn on to that asmp only in case its a power draw issue from head unit

Can't fit subwoofer amp leads to pioneer DEH-2000MP Head unit

pioneer head units only distribute like 200 rms or so to the speakers. you might have to find a blue maybe even blue with white striped wire and nick it just enough to tie your amp wire around it. tape it up and see if it works.

Wiring

Usually an 800 watt peak sub would be a 400 watt rms. Hmmmm. Anyway, just bridge the amp (1x 380) nd keep the gain up enough to stay clean. Watch the sub and turn up gain until it starts to distort, then back it down a hair. Do this with the CD players volume up 2/3 to 3/4 volume with the BASS and treble at zero (bass better at minus 4 or so if you are a bass head! Hope thishelps.

No power to my pioneer gm5300t

arcanum,

good day bro, from your Pioneer amp supply line do you also see a terminal marked as " System controller" ? did you also supply 12V DC to this terminal?

the standard power configuration for Pioneer Car amps would be:

12V Dc (+) supply / ( - ) supply ground / System Controller ( supplied by +12V DC)

12V ( + ) supply and The ( - ) supply ground is for stand by power, once you connect the supply through this terminal you will now have the stand by power but will not power on the unit even the LED power indicator.

System controller terminal, this should be supplied by ( + ) 12V line to power up the amp. this serves as the ON/OFF switch for the amp.

cheers,
mark

Pioneer GM5300T-760amp w/bridgeable

It sound like the Amp is trying to protect itself:

From the manual:
"To prevent malfunction of the amplifier and
speakers, the protective circuit will cut the power
supply to the amplifier (sound will stop) when an
abnormal condition occurs. In such a case, switch
the power to the system OFF and check the
connection of the power supply and speakers."

Although I'm leaning toward the speaker config, double check the obvious first.
  • power cables - both positive and ground heavy enough gauge?
  • speaker cables
  • solid connections, crimps
The next check is the speakers themselves. More info needed.

How many? 1, 2, 4?

Are they 8 Ohms? 4 Ohms?

How are they wired?
  • One to a channel?
  • Series?
  • Parallel?
  • Bridged?
In case you don't have one, here's a link to the
GM-5300t Owners Manual

If you still have problems, get back to me with speaker specs and configuration.

Hope this helps
