Question about Compaq Computers & Internet
Will switch on and off but only the background picture comes up and the cursor its impossible to do anything no lettering etc on screen at all.I've tried all the keyboard keys and nothing happens .
Does the mouse work? I would Cold-stat the machine: 1) remove AC plug from outlet, 2) remove battery, 3) hold down on/off button for 10 seconds, 4) replace battery, 5) plug into wall outlet 6) push on/off button.let me know if there is any change, if not you can try another procedure.

Make sure there is not a lock on the top middle of the touchpad that you can press to toggle the lock/unlock. if so, press it. Otherwise I would try booting up in safe mode and see if the cursor locks.
