Belling 665 halogen ring faulty

You would need to study a circuit diagram for the stove to figure out where the fault is probably to be found and how it works or alternatively take it apart and follow the wires making notes as you go.

It is true, obsolescence and unreliability and a shorter lifespan is often built in to appliances and other things. Part of the reason is sensible designs using quality parts and engineering are too expensive and so good designs are production engineered (corners are cut) to save money, usually introducing problems and unwelcome "compromises". Often sophisticating the design using cheaper methods are used to overcome problems caused by production engineering.

One of the big problems with stuff designed to have a shorter life is the replacement parts needed to make them last a bit longer are usually priced not to sell.

I removed the Ground Fault Interrupter plug from my new GE window air conditioner to fit it in my camper, i put a normal AC plug on it now the thermostat stays on all the time. David

First, the GFI was placed in the system for a reason. On ANY part of an HVAC system, if it has a safety, you NEVER remove it. If you place a regular plug on it, I would replace the breaker that feeds that circuit with a GFI breaker. This will still give you the protection it needs without compromising safety at all. As far as your thermostat, does it have batteries in it or is it ran off your power input. If you have no power to your system and your thermostat was off before, but now you removed the GFI and the thermostat stays on, I would think you have a battery back up that will lock out the thermostat on a ground fault.

Fridge compartment freezing

First of all switch off the fridge and allow all the frost to clear off Then reduce the settings on the thermostat and switch on the fridge. If the fault stays then check if the compressor is shutting off , if not your thermostat can be faulty. Also if the timer is not working then frost can build up and reduce cooling. so check this out before you confirm. Repeat the shut down when the frost develops and do your settings/corrections before switch on. Only then you can confirm on the fault. Hope you try this out. Good day

you either have an overheat switch opening up prematurely or a bad connection that faults when it gets hot. Check all connections with the power off and try jumping out the safety switch to see if the heater stays on.

Common faults -
1 The heating elements can fail(meaning open circuit)
2 There are cut-outs (T.O.C's) thatmight need resetting
3 The thermostats (stats) can tripout or burn out (meaning opencircuit)
4 Moderntumble dryers also have sensors and pcb's (Printed circuitboards) thesehaveprograms that can fail and circuitry although most should produce an errorcodeshowing you were the fault is.
5 Faultyconnections and burned wires may also bethe fault.

The cooker stays warm when mains cooker switch is on.

Either teh grill element or the oven heating element is fault or the thermostat or grill regulator, locate which element is warm, if the grill then it is most likely the regulator, if it is the oven it is the thermostat. Engineer
