Note: your buttons may differ from this solution, but its the same proceedure:
Switch off printer, hold down 'Power' 'Maintenance' and 'Stop' buttons simultaneously for between 5 and 10 secs and the printer will switch itself on and reset itself. Switch off and switch on again. Should be back in business
Sadly this is built in trick to get people to buy parts early.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

The waste ink pad needs to be replaced or cleaned AND the service software used to reset the internal counter. You cn download tthis online.
You have to dis-assemble the printer to get at the pad. You can clean the pad with agressive rinsing till it is a very light gray color. (A lot of ink will be flushed out!)

Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life “Today I had the joy of fixing an Epson Stylus C46 UX printer.”It had the following error: “Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. See your printer documentation.”
After a little searching I discovered that most people were saying that “It is simply not worth repairing”, however, I took that as a challenge, and decided that if I was going to throw it away anyway I might as well try to fix it first.
Before long I located a page on fixyourownprinter.com’s forum, which had plenty of details about similar issues. This is the process I used after reading details on that page:
