I cant use my camera. why?

Your Dell Latitude E6400 laptop comes with a built-in webcam at the top of the LCD screen. This camera can take still pictures and record video for use with video messaging. You can access the camera via a software program already installed on the computer. This program can be accessed right from the desktop screen.

1.Turn on your Dell Latitude and click on the "Start" tab on the main desktop screen. A list of options will appear in a drop-down window.
2.Click "Dell Webcam" from the list of options in the window.
3.Click on "Dell Webcam Center" and the program will open. A capture window will appear on screen. Beneath the capture window will be a control panel.
4.Click on the camera icon to take a still photo.
5.Click on the "Record" button to record video with the webcam.

goto mycomputer,right click select properties,hardare,device manager, right click image & scanners,right click uninstall, goto action menu, select scan for hardware chages.

It will not work through USB like a standard webcam. Ls-70 only lets you access camera memory card/onboard memory when connected via USB.
However you could connect the camera video-out socket to a PC with graphics card with video capture function. Some cards with video capture work with skype (check this URL:
http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=41101 )
There are also various software solutions which can fool your webchat client into thinking that video capture stream is actually an output of a usb webcam. (Try google for "video capture into skype".
At the moment this seems to be the only easy way to use LS-70 as webcam.

The best solution: Buy a good computer with a webcam or a simple webcam. The best thing to do is not to buy the Acer 5315-2326

You should have a built in program installed, called bison, sunyin or orbi cam or simular....! Once you have found it and configured it you then use the capture feature in video mode.

There are more direct way of transferring VHS to digital format (MPG, AVI, etc. There are now cheap video capture devices like TV tuner, or a video capture card tha connects to USB 2.0 port. However if you still want to use this camera, this ?s what you need to do. 1. Connect the camera to the PC. Most MiniDV cams have an iterface called i-link, firewire or IEEE-1394. If your computer has no shuch interface, you have to install. 2. Record the analog video to the miniDV tape. 3.CApture the recorded tape to the PC. You need to video capture software to do this. You may need to convert the format to the format that you prefer. 4. Burn the vdeo to DVD, you will need a burner and video autthoring softare such as nero.
