Question about Lenovo Computers & Internet
I got a new laptop today but cannot activate the wireless connection. I click on Fn and F5 and a windown tells me to switch on the wireless radio switch but I can't find it.

I had this same problem. The slider switch on the right side if the laptop enables both the wifi connection and the Bluetooth control. My laptop was only turning on the Bluetooth. If this is happening to you, true booting the computer and going in the BIOS settings, Network, wireless adapter. There you will have the option to turn it on or off. Mine was set to off. I clicked on and rebooted to Windows and it works now. Hope this helps.

PLease locate the slider switch at the edge of your laptop. there should be a small slider switch for your wireless. Try to look at the sides or at the front of your keyboard.

There is no dedicated one key/button for wireless for IBM Thinkpad T42. If "Fn" + "F5" keys for the on-screen function that activate/de-activate the wireless not working, you can access it by IBM utility software: Start. All Programs.Access IBM. IBM Access Connections. You can use the software to disable/enable the Fn+F5.

I had the exact same problem and went through the same steps that he did. It was only when I searched for a physical wireless switch (on the left side of my Dell D630) that the problem was solved. I didn't even know it was there and must have inadvertently knocked into the off position.

hi mmi300, try to press Fn + F5 and check if it works. Pls determine if there is a toggle switch (if it is a laptop) somewhere. Disregard that step if it is a desktop...
Hope this help...
