Question about ASUS P4SDX Motherboard
Hi, I recently got an ASUS P4SDX mother board that has onboard audio, but it doesn't work. After installing XP, XP automatically updated the driver (no yellow question marks next to sound devices in device manager).
For the life of me I couldn't get the audio to work. I checked the speakers, and they work, went through the windows trouble shooting help to make sure everything was set up right and not muted, uninstalled the soundmax driver and reinstalled ... nothing. No audio from the internet, CD's, mp3's, etc.
Is the audio just dead on this board? Is there a simple and cheap sound card you recommend I could toss in a PCI slot if this is the case?
Thanks much JS
Uninstall the driver & again install it out.If still it doesn't work then check for the type of motherboard,& audio chipset.Down load the driver from internet & install it out.It must work,if driver problem persist. If at all hardware problem then you have to use the usb soundcard for audio to enable in laptop. It also works fine.
