the problem is most likely the battery, lithium ion batteries only last so many years, then they start holding less of a charge, eventually unable to hold a charge at all, this process can be accelerated by frequent unnecessary charging. if you replace the battery it will probably work fine
Oh dear. 4 hours isn't going to get you far thru the day. With the battery in fair health it should still last you all day with regular use (at least). Due to the nature of rechargeable batteries, the battery life with gradually get lower as time goes on.
As a rule, it should still hold 85% of it's original charge after 1 year.
If you are getting less than this and you have had it less than 1 year, the manufacturer (LG) should replace it under it's warranty (in some countries you may have longer)
Further warranty information, and to submit a warranty claim, Visit the LG support page or refer to the original manual.

Batteries are also available at amazon and eBay (be careful to avoid fakes)
if your product is in warranty goto lg service centre and complaint them that problem with the battery, your phone ll get switched off within 1 hour after fully charged,
they ll replace ur battery.... surely.
don't do any tweaks yourself u may lost the warranty.
take out your battery and put it back in then try charging it again. if it doesnt work try another outlet. This means your phoen needs to be charged and either your battery needs replacing or your charger. let me know what happens. should charge it for a couple hours at least
try turning it on while its on the charger .. if that works then you might need a new battery .. if it doesnt then do a "reset" ... unscrew the top off the stylus and use it to push the reset button on the back (top center) ... if that doesnt get it going then you can do a hard reset but that will erase all your information (like telephone numbers and such) ... you do a hard reset by holding down the on/off button while pushing the reset .. if it works on the charger but quits when on battery then you need a new battery ..
Take out the battery ,clean the contacts if it sitll gives the same problem ,try chargeing with a usb or another charger.
If still doesnot work then you need to get the battery replaced.
Do rate the solution .
another this to try is get a new battery.
mine had the same problem i would try to charge and nothing and it would turn on for about 30 seconds then turn off and i tried putting it on a charger within those 30 seconds but it wouldnt take a charge.
i got a new battery theat had some charge in it and it worked great! alot of the time thats all you need it a new battery
You might hook your charger up to your battery and check the voltage that you are getting when it is fully charged. It may be that the charger is bad.
Your voltage when fully charged with the battery on it should be a little over the rated voltage of the battery.
Just a thought. Be sure you are using the correct poweradapter/charger also.
