Sounds like your Num Lock button is on! That changes j, k, l, u, i, o, and m to numpad. You can just switch it off. with Nim Lock button top right on keyboard.

Best wishes,

SOURCE: replacement keys for keyboard

You don't have to replace the whole keyboard if some of your keys fell off. There is a key replacement company I ordered my keys from. They have video tutorials on how to fix your keys. And its very simple. Have a look:

My lenovo e530 few keys stop working due to spill

Go to and search for an aftermarket keyboard for you make and mdl. It would be a cheep fix (most likely under $25.00) if it doesn't come with instructions google replace keyboard and add your make and model. Most keyboards are held in by 4 or 6 screws accessed on the bottom of your computer. After you remove the screws open the computer and lift the old one carefully until you see a ribbon (flat wide wire) of cable there will be either a connector on the end that will lift out or at the computer a plastic connector attached to the computer that has a piece that will click away and the ribbon will come out. Put the new one in and put the screws back. Reboot and cross your fingers. Or you can use a USB or wireless keyboard, but that's not to portable.
Worst case get into the virtual keyboard thru access ability settings and you can use the mouse to type the letters your keyboard will not type. Good luck, Kevin

Keys all mixed up keyboard

The most likely fault is that your language setting in your operating system is incorrect or corrupted. I suggest you go into the keyboard language settings and ensure you are set to the correct country as the layout varies between them.

Keyboard typing wrong letters

Your keyboard is not "typing wrong letters", you have a stuck key. The key is shorting out and is stuck on the letter W. Usually caused by dirt/dust/spills on the keyboard jamming the key so it can't release. Things to try in order of difficulty:
>Vacuum cleaner with brush attachment, vac the keys.
>Paper towel moistened lightly rubbed on the 4 sides of the W key; use a knife blade to gently work down into the edges.
>Soft toothbrush, lightly dampened with water, work the bristles all
all around the edges of the W key. After that do step 2 with a dry
dry paper towel.
>Take the keyboard apart; usually several tiny screws on the rear/sides. CAREFULLY remove the top. You may have to turn the board over, lie on its face to do this. Do not knock the letters out of order or you will have a headache placing them back in proper order! Clear whatever it blocking the W and replace the cover.
If none of the above works the keyboard has failed, needs to be replaced.

Do a full scan with your antivirus, if okay! try a system restore by taking computer back in time before this became a issue.
