If your water heater is old or has been recently replaced, it will slough off debris that will get caught in the hot water supply side of the faucet. You have to disassimble the faucet and use a dental pic to remove the debris from it. This is a real common occurance. You can also try to flush out that side by removing the parts and then slowly turning on the water without the parts inside. Be careful not to flood your bathroom when you do this. But usually you have to dig it out. I have spent as high as 3 hours digging the liner from the dip tube of a water heater out of a faucet.

well they should be same size but unless you getting more of one then other then sound like mixing valve is not mixing. do have 3/4 hook up to mixing valve? you only need 1/2" to valve.

this is fun, you probably have some rust or lime build up in faucet, most of these single handles you have to remove handle setscrew usually small allen wrench. shut off water supply first!!! next the barrel should be held on by a screw remove and lift barrel out you should now be able to see build up clean and reassemble if you are not confident with this call a plumber good luck

SOURCE: Water is not very hot.
First try adjusting the pressure balancing gear located right behind the handle. If you still do not have hot water I suggest to replace the cartridge.

The hole under the seal and spring for the cold side is plugged with dirt....
a small screw driver will sometimes do the trick, and sometimes you need to unhook the piping underneath and blow air back through it...
