Check to make sure your child lock is off first. Hold the time and signal buttons simultaneously for three seconds. Unlikely, but do check. Some of these dryers have a safety switch that the idler pulley has to engage to allow the dryer to run. I tried to find a schematic for this model but could not get one to tell if you do have a safety switch. Look at the arm of the idler pulley and see if it is contacting the switch actuator correctly. When a belt breaks or pops off, sometimes the arm of the pulley will move to the other side of the switch actuator and will not allow the dryer to run once a belt is reistalled. I would also look to see if a wire was knocked off of the motor switch when your belt came off. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

SOURCE: I need to know how

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your post, you have a Samsung dryer and the belt has come off.

I've seen this many, many times...though the belt usually doesn't break it just comes off. Very common for Samsung dryers for whatever reason.

**Unplug the unit before proceeding...safety first**...

The good news is if you can get to it from the back you can simply remove the small panel around the exhaust tube as shown here,

macmarkus_375.jpg

if it's not accessible from back you'll need to go from the front...that's do-able too, just a little more involved. Let me know.

Once in the back the belt should look like this when routed properly, with the "V" grooves towards the drum and motor pulley.

i.e.

Hope that moves you forward...or even better, fixed up.

Let me know what you find. I will try to help in any manner I can of course as well. Good luck.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

WHAT DOES ts error code on a samsung dryer

A ts error means that there is either a thermistor short or the vent is blocked. First check the entire dryer vent from the dryer to the outlet. Clean any lint build up and make sure that the vent isn't constricted around any objects if you have flexible ducting. Check that the flap hasn't shifted to block the vent outlet. (I've seen this a few times.)

If that doesn't solve the problem, replace the thermistor. It's part 7 on this diagram: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Samsung-Parts/Dryer-Parts/Model-DV209AEWXAA0000/1482/0151200/50039356/00005?blt=06&prst=&shdMod= . If your dryer is still under warranty, contact Samsung for the repair.

I hope this helps.

Samsung Dryer Model DV419AEW /XAA Dryer will not

I doubt its the main board. Try seeing if the drum is tight and seeing if the belt broke by spinning it by hand. If the drum is real sloppy and you can't feel motor tension, you need a belt. I would rule out the mainboard until last because the belt is like 89 cents.

Dv209aew/xaa where is heating element

Under the drum on the right hand side. To get to it you will need to remove the top panel. UNPLUG it. take out the 4 screws that hold the control panel in place. Take out the three screws that hold the Main control board( on the lefthand side). Unhook the control board connectors from the main control board. Remove the control panel. Take off the 2 bottom screws inside the door, take off the 4 screws that hold the front cover plate. Take off front the front cover. Take off the 5 screws that hols the drum plate. Remove it. Remove the belt, and the metal bracket on top. Take out the drum and you will be able to access the element.

Our dryer (Samsung Model DV218AGW/XAA) has power, no error messages, but will not start. When you press the "start" button, there is a click, but the drum will not move, no heat, etc...

I had the same issue with a Samsung DV209AEW/XAA.

What I found was the belt had come off and the spring on the drum belt pully had come off.

After I disassembled the whole top and front to figure out I could not access what I needed from there I discovered I needed to enter in from the vent is.

Anyway here is some info:

Rear Access:

1) On the back where the Vent comes out you have 4 total screws. 3 of them are on the outside edge and the fourth is more of a middle mount that holds the tube to this bracket. Remove all four screws now you can lift and lean this plate to remove it.

2) This will also free up the vent tube and it can be pulled and cleaned also if you desire.

3) With these items out of the way you can now access the pulley for the belt and other items.
